If you're around on flickr at all, you'll see that this style of picture is fairly common, but whenever I've attempted to take something similar before I feel like I failed miserably. Although this style is new to me, I needed to know whether or not it was an option for me to investigate... and I'm not at all upset about how this has turned out. It's definitely given me a little more perspective on how to make this work, and that gives me a foothold on future improvements too. Yay for learning new things!

Another thing I did was make my hands bigger. I know I've said this before, but the whole perspective vs proportion thing really does bother me and i'm a lot happier with the size of my hands in this pic, compared to the last one!

Today I will be doing some RL things, which some of you readers will know makes me incredibly nervous. I haven't slept yet, which is probably a poor choice, but I made my choice and now I'm stuck with it because it's 7.30am and I don't have time - plus if I nap I'll only oversleep and that'll be even worse for all the people involved in my escapades outside. Maybe, in a weird way, this picture depicts subconsciously how I feel today. Like "Hey life, fuck you - I'm coming to get you!" and you know what? That just fills my heart with happy.

This is my second official post for The Secret Affair event. This round, the theme is "Isle of the Devil's Sea", and you can find some more information on designers and other such awesome on their website >Here<

I got a little nervous about this post, self doubt creeping in a bit as I began to convince myself that I just wouldn't be able to do the products justice, but I'm actually really happy with the way this photo came out. So happy that I'm not even going to do the regular pictures on the grey background, because I don't think anything can showcase what we have here any better than this picture.

I'm even more proud of the watery splash-thingies at my waist, although I do think maybe a little more could have worked too - but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Whenever I "Work" an event as a blogger (I use the term work loosely, I blog and take photographs because I enjoy it, and I am incredibly aware that i'm extremely lucky to have some wonderful people who gift me with their items in return for the little pictures i take) I like to attempt to use as many items as possible to showcase said event. Sometimes that's just not possible, and you end up featuring just one item.. however, luckily for me, The Secret Affair has a glorious amount of mix-and-match items that work seamlessly together, or of course, can be used separately.

Finally I have a little respite from feeling gross! I'm well aware it's a work in progress right now, but I have brand new medication for the anxiety that causes my stomach issues and currently it seems to be doing what it's meant to, so let's keep our fingers crossed because the last couple of months have been horrific!

I have SO many ideas for blog posts right now and it seems like there aren't enough hours in the day, so please bear with me while I get back on track. I want to shout out again to RLD (Red Light District) which opened on the 15th, even though nothing is featured from there in this post, and also to the Secret Affair that is still ongoing - please make sure you check out those two events. I'm also well aware that Man-Pickle has been suspiciously missing this week, so be prepared for him to make a surprise visit at some point soon!

The beginnings of my RL changes are going to start this week, and while I am excited, I am also incredibly nervous, but it's a good nervous! This might mean I'm going to miss a couple of days here and there, or maybe - maybe, I'll manage double whammies some days. Who knows?

I'm always super excited whenever Essences drops a skin, and this one has seriously not disappointed me. It's so fresh and dewy, it just makes my heart happy! I'm currently wearing a slimmer version of my Belleza Freya shape, much as I like Maitreya and Hourglass, I always seem to return to Freya, moreso now that the hands have been updated to bento. I love that I can thicken up or keep my curves while being slightly slimmer - and I know there's a big to-do at the moment about bodies and which one is "best" but it really is about personal opinion as far as I'm concerned.

Miss Chelsea produced this gorgeous swimsuit that you can see in more detail below, available at the FrouFrou event. I love this orange colour, but if you purchase the colour hud you have the opportunity to swap the bodice and the bra colours too - this is so delicate and the level of detail never fails to impress me. A quick shout out to Go&See for these eyeballs! I'm loving them!! SO realistic!

Saga! OH MY LANTA! Once again, amazing. These earrings are EVERYTHING! Complete with colour hud they're available at Kustom9, along with another pair I will feature at some point soon!

Let's talk for a minute about proportions, because I struggle SO hard with the way my hand looks here - maybe it's because I really like having a big ol' SL bootay, but my hand looks teeny tiny in comparison and that annoys me!

I swear I even made my hands bigger for this, but any more and it just seemed too much. I know t-rex arms are one of my personal pet peeves, but so are baby hands. I  mean you want to be able to wipe your butt effectively, right?

The inspiration for this post is obviously a bit of a tongue-in-cheek robbery type dealio with Pickle showing another type of cheek before she steals away with some of those money packets and gold bars. So I don't want to go too far into it, but there's a lot of changes happening for me in RL right now. I'm tentatively positive, but still far too nervous to divulge all the details.

However, this means that things on this blog might get a little less reliable. I've spent two years plus working towards what this blog has currently become, and while I am unwilling to scrimp on the kind of quality I have been producing lately, I'm more unwilling to stop the direction RL is going in.

I edited this picture on my new laptop - and i'm not entirely sure why but the colour seems a little off now I'm on my desktop. Annoying! I guess it's because my screen is smaller? Who knows! Regardless, the regular calWL pics are below for you to have a peek at, and hopefully i'll become more comfortable on my laptop over the coming weeks and it'll improve the quality of the edits again!

I'm hoping this photo reminds you of a modern day fairytale. That was kind of what I was going for. Maybe a Snow White or Sleeping Beauty (pre-needle to her finger), wandering contentedly through the forest in relative innocence before any bad-things occur.

I've always struggled to take photo's with softer windlights, but I'm exceedingly happy with this one. The only thing I did differently was take my time, so I guess I need to stop being impatient!
