So I succumbed to the fact that I might need a new head (obviously, I didn't, but I still DID). Initially, I thought I wanted the LAQ Ivy head, which I tried and gosh, it's beautiful... but then I started to wonder about what I could do to make it feel like me, and realized that there would be fewer skins, and lesser make up options... so I ran around for a while and tried this one, from Catwa. I still wanted the big eyes and doll-like features from the LAQ head, but with Catwa I knew I could find some skins that would work, due to the marketplace being full of them... and yay! I found one! (and also tried a good few older ones I have in my inventory and a fair amount of those worked too!)
I really don't know why I have so many mesh heads. Part of me thinks it's just because it's SL and you can literally change your look from day to day in accordance with your budget, and in RL I think we'd all like to do that some times, although it might be a bit Worzel Gummidge (Older British people might remember good ol' Worzel!)
I often forget about the Lelutka heads, but then I put one on and suddenly, it brings back how much I abso-freaking-lutley adore them. Every single head I've purchased from them (and I now have at least five) has bought something new.. no matter how small, and each time they up their game I'm at a loss for words. Needless to say when I saw the new Go&See skin specifically for the new brand of Lelutka heads, I made big ol' grabby hands for it!
I also decided to do the Slink body with the petite add-on for mah bewbies. I LOVE playing with (myself? LOL) my avatar, creating shapes that I believe to be fairly realistic.. and the petite add-on for the Slink helps me achieve that as I was never keen on the way the hourglass body breasts protruded.. but I am a huge fan of this shape. It's fair to say this was inspired not only by the new Go&See skin, but also Muggleborn, who go above and beyond to rig for bodies and augments that not every creator manages to include.
I probably don't say this enough, but I am SO amazingly grateful for all the beautiful brands that trust me with their creations, without their items, I'm almost certain my creativity would have been stunted as often I need a little push!

I've been putting this post off and honestly, I don't really know why, other than I started doing DFS Farming in SL and I might be a little obsessed.
Anywho, lemme get you these credits before my bread burns and I make a giant oopsie!
Also, I totes borrowed the Potato as a man-dolly and I'm really not sure of his credits as his net went poof. You can't really see him anyway but if you have any questions feel free to hit me up and I'll be sure to let you know when he's back online.
Waistcoat : uc_fringe_ornamental_black_women_vest (Note: This is a standard size item. I'm not 100% certain but it may have been updated to fit mesh bodies - but I'd probably still use standard sizes to avoid the clipping issues sometimes encountered when layering!)
Seriously though, I've been seeing a butt-ton of nonsense on facebook lately, which just seems to be pulling people apart, and I was wondering - is that a direct result of social media?
Without the social media thingies, our opinions would be confined to those people in our lives that actually had some semblance of importance there. Now, your next door neighbours best friends cousin can be on your social media account because you waved at her once and when she sent you a friends request you didn't want to decline in case you offended your neighbour.
This whole social media thing is an absolute minefield. You don't share enough and you have the potential to be forgotten (especially if you're a blogger/creator within the SL world), and if you use it too much you're liable to say something eventually that has the potential to piss off an entire clique, thus spinning your 'reputation' into turmoil and potentially causing you to fall off the SL grid.
I really believe that while opinions aren't -usually- harmful, the way other people respond to said opinions can be. Not everyone needs to know your feelings. Not everyone needs to agree with you, and the truth is that if they do, you're probably surrounded by a bunch of 'yes men' that will likely shit talk you behind your back anyway, so sure, give us your opinions via social media, but don't get butthurt or defensive when your opinion isn't shared by all of your followers, and remember just as you seek respect for your opinion, others will be expecting the same for theirs, regardless of the content differing.
Today I've found myself in a little bit of a spiral, and I want to address a potentially sensitive subject, after I preface with this : I use this blog as a place to vent. Rather than spreading hate and negativity across social media and in an attempt to slow down chinese whispers which seem to be so rife across SL, I prefer to openly discuss my feelings through this space and hopefully come to a point where I reach an understanding with myself. This is never aimed specifically at one person. It's never meant to hurt, or "shade" anybody. If you feel personally attacked by anything I write, feel free to message me in world (LollipopLace) and if you can't because I've blocked you I wish you nothing but love and light but please leave me the eff alone, and find your way to understanding yourself and your relationships.
Ok.
It's so easy to see something on flickr, on facebook, or on any other social media and be like "Hey, that's super amazing. I want that." and part of my "job" as a blogger is to try and evoke that kind of a reaction in people. Also, with SL being so fast to move with new trends, the level of events and the commitment we make as bloggers to showcase all these beautiful items that creators painstakingly make, it becomes difficult to know when something is inspired by, and when something is a direct copy.
More than a few times there have been other bloggers who use the same pose, or put an outfit from an event together the same way as me. I'm not upset over this... it's going to happen. I remember one time, about two years ago, a blogger left a really nasty comment on my flickr in regards to an outfit I'd put together. It hurt me so bad, because I wasn't even following this other person, so I literally had no idea we'd done things similarly and it took a little investigating to figure out they did in fact blog the same event. I deleted the comment, reached out in world and explained the situation and received silence as a response, which I guess is an response in of itself!
However, there have also been times that I have spent hours and hours making a scene, selecting the perfect pose, creating the lighting and editing a photograph I am incredibly proud of... only to have someone - sometimes someone I have helped in some way while creating my scene - use the same background I set up with very minor differences, without me even knowing and tbh, usually they do it better!
The constant influx of items and the demand to blog the most recent items, it can be really, really difficult to get inspiration. It's understandable that there will be occasions where pictures from multiple people will overlap. I try my hardest to reach out to people who have inspired me, to let them know and to make sure it's okay if I credit them on my silly little blog, firstly because I feel like it's the "right thing" to do, and secondly because it's so beautiful to receive a compliment, even if the compliment comes from a stranger - I want to be that stranger!
Still, it seems that while this is something I attempt to do, very few people will give credit where credit is due. It's beautiful that so many people will credit their items to the creators, to give love and appreciation to those who make virtual items... but what about those who make ideas? Who set a wheel in motion in your brain? Don't they deserve credit, too?
It's all love here, seriously. I'm often floored by the work that SL residents can create, and I will always stand by that ideal. There's no doubt that there have been moments where something has sparked an idea in my head and I have not credited them because we scroll so fast through our social media we don't even recognize where the idea came from.
In fairness, I absolutely hate festivities before Dec 1st, however, when Moss&Mink dropped this Couch & Chair set, I needed to make a warm and cosy Christmassy area that you could cuddle up in contentedly.
The beauty of the Moss&Mink brand is that no matter what your purchase, and no matter what your taste, you can make items fit with their insane colour/pattern hud, and whether you like your entire house to match or just one room, you can make that happen.
With that said, there aren't multiple options when you purchase from Moss&Mink, there's one item (two, if there are pg and adult options), one extraordinarily reasonable price and the colour hud is usually included, so you can create your pastel dream, your classic perfection, or as above, an invitingly seasonal area for a few friends to gather together and bask in stylish comfort.
Taken on my platform with a random-faffed-with windlight, so no other info!
I may have had a slight rant on facebook yesterday because my brain just wouldn't compute as I was constructing the blog.
If you missed it.. here it is!
"I was gonna post this on my blog, but I just couldn't find the words earlier, but I'm struggling pretty hard today, and not in the regular "Omg my anxiety is ridiculous and I want to sleep 5ever" kinda way (although that too).
Today I'm struggling to keep my fucking mouth shut. It's never been a thing I've been good at honestly, and I'm more likely to shout from the rooftops about how shitty a situation is than shut my trap and let people see it for themselves, but that has never done me any good, and although I'd love to keep keeping shtum I am TIRED. I am tired of watching these people who constantly take and take and take, and then take credit being shown as people worthy of some kind of SL fame, or infamy. I'm tired of being one of those people who have given more than my due, and have been left by the wayside or being painted as the villain in removing these vile people from my SL and my life in general. I know more than people know I know, and although I may say a lot to a select few, it's never the entire story. For fucks sake, be good to each other. I can't keep making excuses for my silence if you're continually being a fucktard."
See, I think it might have gotten a bit of a reaction, not because anyone actually knows what I was talking about (it wasn't one person, nor was it a collective of peoples. There were multiple reasons for me feeling like I needed to rant and most of them are selfish), but because so many of us humans feel so completely taken advantage of by others.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm well aware that everyone has toxic traits, myself included. I'm not perfect, I don't claim to be, but I do try extremely hard every day to remain a pleasant person to be around, but situations like the ones I have been forced into recently make that extremely difficult to maintain, as that stubborn angry bitch in me just wants to rear it's ugly head and snap at the stupid.
Continually I have to remind myself that my idea of a terrible person isn't my next door neighbours idea of a terrible person, and everyone is entitled to their opinions. However, when I see the same people pulling the same stunts over and over again, the angry in me bubbles over, and you get a Pickle Rant.
Today's mission is to calm the fuck down. I'm going to attempt (again) to accept the fact I cannot change people to suit MY agenda. Control isn't love, and more than anything I really DO want to shower kindness over people, no matter how successful I am in this. If I fail today, I'll get up and try and be a better version of myself tomorrow... yet, in being what I consider to be a decent person, I will also be taking care of myself and that means putting me first. I'm a very loud, very opinionated introvert, and sometimes people miss the introversion because of the noise I am capable of making, but I need to take care of myself and ensure my energy is good so I'll be collecting my spoons and distributing them far more wisely.

Essences - Luisa for Genus in tones Dark 01 and Dark 02
As usual, the Essences skin comes with 6 eyebrow options (actually i think the "no brow" option might be new, but yay! New!), black, brown, ginger, blonde, red and no brows, not shown here today because I derped out!
I took my picture today at my friend Juniper's sim. Now at the beginning I wasn't even really looking to take a photo, I was just being a nosy Pickle, but when I wandered around a little, I found there were some absolutely fabulous nooks perfect for photographs.
I realize I haven't shown much in this picture, but that should only encourage you to go and take a look for yourself! Please remember it is a roleplay D/s & BDSM area, and it is ADULT themed. Enter with a respectful mindset and I have no doubt you'll be at home.
