Before I go to sleep, I like to Youtube. I have a pretty select number of channels that I actually enjoy, from your generic make-up artists to more newsy type things, and sometimes even a good ol' conspiracy.

I was watching Philip DeFranco last night, he's a news type dude, but will give you the facts then if necessary he'll give you his opinion. I like this a lot. He seems fair, he doesn't appear to have an agenda, and I've been finding out some really cool shit about the world that I'd never have known before, because the mainstream news just makes me want to punch kittens through boredom.

Last night he mentioned how Instagram was going to start making likes on their posts less visible in order to raise the quality of content people were posting, and my dead little heart SOARED. THIS. This whole principle is exactly why I am planning a break, to distance myself from the "Likes = quality content" crap surrounding blogging and photography. I want to bring content to readers/viewers of my blog that adds something to their lives, whether that surrounds RL mental health issues and my perspectives, or something in SL that bugs me. I want to be slightly more informational, maybe more pictures indicating the quality of the product i'm blogging, maybe a feature on a sim, maybe more close ups and definitely more informational vlogs, which will hopefully increase in quality the more I practice!

My opinions will be broadcast even more. So if you don't like this part of my blogging, you can totally skip over it (probably like you already do, right?) and if you do, well you're gonna be in for a treat! 

The other advantage of me stepping away from the Likes debacle, will hopefully mean that I don't value the opinions of strangers on my work, and this external validation that I feel necessary will deplete. I know I'm decent at what I do, and if that makes me a big headed, entitled cowbag, I'll take that title. I know I 'deserve' things that other people are getting, but I also know that as much as I deserve what other people are getting, so do many many bloggers and photographers that are far better than I am, so why not just take that whole 'competition' aspect I feel from blogging away, and turn it back into what it should be, what it has been in the past, and what I love... a place I can show my style, give information and overall have some bloody fun.

Just today by taking away the "Omg I gotta" aspect from my photo, I feel like I encapsulated a side of the Pickle avatar that had been long forgotten, and it came easily.

This skin is the first of the new range, and is available at the Seasons Story which opened January 10th. It's called Hana, and it's available in 8 tones. Albi, Goth, Pale, Witchy, Tropic, Tan, Cola and Choco. It's for Catwa heads and is shown on the Catwa Catya in my pictures today.

What I haven't shown is the no eyebrow options, and above you can see the skin without freckles, but in the main, edited picture above this one I've used the add-on freckles which apply on the Blush and Eyeshadow layer.

BOOBS!

Along with the brand new body, which I can tell immediately is much smoother, for want of a better word... there's obviously been a bunch more detail added, the tonal depth of the belly buttons and the nipples... OMG HALLO NIPNOPS I LOVE YOU. There's three options shown above, and those are regular cleavage, regular cleavage & no nips at all (but you want them. YOU WANT THE NIPS.)

Above you can see the cleavage version of the skin, cleavage with ribs and a v-tech add on version for Maitreya which is suitable for femboys or flat chests.

All of these body options come in Maitreya, Belleza and Omega, so as long as you have an omega relay system for your selected body you can use these. However, I do suggest demoing first, just because shading can vary depending on your favoured body.

I retreat quite a lot, but today I'm having an SL get-together with some of my inworld family.

I'm kinda nervous about this. I've been with this particular family for almost a year now, but because I am quite an anxious Pickle, I've kept myself back from actually getting to know anyone outside of my "Mum & Dad". That means that I'm now over-thinking meeting all the people I haven't yet met. 

I was introduced to my mothers parents yesterday, and that went surprisingly well! 

I used to think SL families were a really weird concept, and then I was persuaded to make a child avatar by one of my besties and wham... I was convinced they were awesome.

I think they're basically like everything, RL or SL. They're your own little community.

I've been through a fair amount of drama within the families I've been associated... Narcissistic mothers, Flirty fathers, Jealous siblings and a bunch of other unrelated nonsense... but let's be fair, everywhere you go there's that risk, and the only choice you have to make is whether or not the people you surround yourself with are people who make you happy, feed your spoon consumption and don't take more than they're willing to give.

So sure, I'm nervous as fudge... but I'm also excited.

Excited because these people are potentially new friends, and despite my difficulties in interacting I'm lucky to have been given the opportunity to meet people that mean something to my existing SL family. We have games and maybe a movie, and some gift exchanges planned, so yeah, I'm anxious... but it's pushing me to open up, and that's gotta be good.

Hi! Happy freakin' Halloween!!

I guess this isn't a particularly spooky post, but I did want to make it slightly creepy.. I don't think there's nearly enough blood and gore, but hey, I'm cute af!

On another note, I did manage to slay the lazy, and I updated a bunch of LMs yesterday on the Locations page of this blog. If you're looking for pretty places to take photographs, or just to explore, there are some lovely sims included (And no doubt a bunch more I've yet to find!).

If I can continue along the lines of not being a lazy Pickle, you  might even find some pictures included at some point, too... although many of the spots are seasonal or subject to change.

Plato apparently said "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything."

I have to admit, I kind of agree.

I have never been overly passionate about a particular band or style of music. 

At 7 or 8, my next-door neighbour went to a Michael Jackson concert and bought me back a program. Instantly I decided that I was going to marry him, and made it my goal to learn (very basically) the keyboard notes to "Beat it".

At 11, I started to get really interested in learning to make my own music, and eventually was chosen to learn the Viola (instances of that nonsense have been previously spoken about in this blog!).

When I was 16ish (shh), I thought I had a crush on Gary Barlow from Take That - but I didn't really. I just wanted to be accepted by the kids at school who thought Take That were the shit.

It was around the same time I was lucky enough to see The Rolling Stones in concert (admittedly the only concert I have ever been to), and without a doubt it is something I will remember forever, despite not being a superfan. The atmosphere was beyond amazing, all those people of different ages coming together, celebrating the sound of Mick Jaggers impeccable vocals.

Breaking up with my first 'proper' boyfriend at age 18 left me sobbing as I clicked record watching MTV, capturing all the sappy lovesongs I could possibly think of on VHS and then in an act that now leaves me cringing, I passed the video to his friend to give to him. Ugh. I'm pretty sure Britney Spears and BackStreet Boys were prevalent across that awful, embarrassing vid.

When I found out I was pregnant, Pink Floyd's "The Wall" became super important to me -  my daughter kicked IN RHYTHM for the entire song when I was in the car... and when she was born Travis' "Flowers in the window" made me cry and Plumbs "In my arms" made my heart explode.

When I broke up with my Fiance, and I thought my world was ending, Leona Lewis and Three Days Grace pulled me through, my bedroom windows open and me singing loud enough to disturb the neighbours #noshame.

More recently, my Daughter performed Adele's "Chasing Pavements" in public, and now I can't listen to that without remembering the pride I felt watching her confidence shine.

What i'm trying to say is that for every important part of your life, there has probably been a song that you can relate to. A memory that is attached, whether good or bad.

I revel in these songs, these moments, and I hope you do, too.

I'm still reeling from the post I made about my daughter. It's been an emotional couple of days for me, but I feel oddly stronger because of it. I'm hoping that maybe having experienced an absolutely stunning amount of support that it might have changed something in my head. I always thought that if I told my story people wouldn't get it. That i'd be subjected to more abusive behaviour. I can't tell you how grateful I am for the outpouring of positivity you have all shown me. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I didn't even realize today was Monday, that's how completely lost I am right now lol.

I have two girl-posts ready to blog, but when I came-to and figured out it was time for Man-Pickle I admit, I had a bit of a freak-out. I mean, I'm not prepared! Where has my weekend gone? What the fudge did I do? WHY WAS THERE NO ALCOHOL INVOLVED?!

Anyway, turns out that this look was actually fairly easy to put together with thanks to items from TMD. I know, I know, I say this every single week, but really... it's all you need. That and a little patience when it comes to things like editing your shit. Seriously guys, don't just put a necklace on. Put a necklace on and make it fit around your neck and above your clothes. It might be a little extra effort, but that five or ten minutes (or thirty for some of you), is really going to make the difference on your avatar!

I'm kind of in love with Man-Pickle right now. I've always liked guys with long hair, and dreadlocks have appealed to me forever. I also adore this skin from Modulus, along with the combination of the eyebrows and beard from Unorthodox, all available at TMD this round.

For those not in the know, TMD opens on the 5th of every month, and runs for the duration. That means there's maybe just over a week left for you to get shopping for this round.
