The Dreamy skin from Revoul will be available at 3pm today (4th March) at The Galleria. She's available in 4 tones, two shown above (my favourite for this one is RE 25!).
It's worth noting that on the RE 05 picture, I've worn eyeliner found in the genus head hud. For some reason, my eyelashes seem to be far away from my eyes... I'm not sure how to fix this, but I'll keep you posted. On paler skins, it tends to look worse, and the RE 25 tone made that slight ick unnoticeable, and no eyeliner was used there.
Once again, there's no information about the pose or background because you can barely see the pose, and the background was totes greenscreened.

According to this one site "Bourne Creative" the colour purple has a strong connection to Royalty and wealth, along with mystery and magic. So far, I'm kinda loving this. As you read on a little, it does say that too much purple can make you irritable, and too little can lead to apathy... not sure what quantities of either equate to too much or too little, though! Let's hope I'm not becoming arrogant and impatient though!
It seems there are some soothing qualities to the colour purple too, with gemstones in the tone apparently accentuating imagination, and learning new things - both of which I'm always keen to do more of... so that's a plus!
I didn't expect to write about purple, and it's almost become a self-fullfilling prophecy in that I DID learn something new today, just by having a peek at what the colour could mean. How fun!

I have tons of things for you today, but before I start, I wanted to address something potentially a little sensitive.
I've been seeing a lot of "My favourite bloggers are..." on facebook lately, and as someone who is NEVER mentioned on these things, it can be a little disheartening. So, for a moment today I went into a bit of a "Fuck, why do I bother?" mode, but luckily, only for a moment.
You see, it suddenly dawned on me again that although I LOVE the opportunity blogging gives to me, I don't actually do it for other people. I do it because -I- love it. I do it because I've been able to watch myself grow and evolve over the three year period I've been doing it.
Like most people, though, I do have the terrible habit of comparing myself to others. I'm not the greatest, most talented photographer out there, but I have watched as I improve, and I always attempt to show the products off in a light that is flattering and real, and along with the content I provide in my blog, I'm actually incredibly proud of what I've achieved.
The other thing that suddenly dawned on me was that although I've had nobody on facebook shouting my name from the rooftops, I've had incredibly artistic friends of mine compliment me lately, and although I know that they're my friends and part of their job is to blow smoke up my ass occasionally, I am actually starting to believe their praise, that is pretty effin' cool!
The moral of my rant is, regardless of your position in terms of appreciation for what you do.. do it. Whether you're someone who can fart and be congratulated for your work, or whether you're someone who rarely gets noticed, if you're enjoying it for heavens sake, continue to do it! Don't be scared of new things, and continue on with what you love, because you really can't please everyone all the time.

It's worth a quick reminder here that shape ALWAYS plays a big part in how a skin looks, and that includes with your body. I'm sure it's obvious that there are shading differences on the stomachs here, however, if your skinny body was actually skinny, the skinny applier would look skinnier. Get it? The same goes for the chubby and pregnant versions too.
Personally, I find these incredibly realistic, and I'm absolutely floored that Revoul can offer such different body types done to such a fabulous standard.

Ok so my brain has well and truly been up my backside today, and I've neglected to think of a subject to write about, also, tomorrow I will be going out with family for my first 'public' meal since I've been feeling better... so that's possibly weighing on my mind a little. I mean, who wants to sit a freakin' restaurant with a bunch of people they don't know, feeling super self conscious while celebrating a 40th Wedding Anniversary?
I actually asked my Dad how he felt about being married to my mum for that long, and I was hoping/expecting for some beautiful sentiment or maybe at a push, something flattering about his children (eg, me.) but no. The response I got was "To be honest, I'm kinda numb to it now."
Now I'm remembering and giggling to myself like a plonker!

I retreat quite a lot, but today I'm having an SL get-together with some of my inworld family.
I'm kinda nervous about this. I've been with this particular family for almost a year now, but because I am quite an anxious Pickle, I've kept myself back from actually getting to know anyone outside of my "Mum & Dad". That means that I'm now over-thinking meeting all the people I haven't yet met.
I was introduced to my mothers parents yesterday, and that went surprisingly well!
I used to think SL families were a really weird concept, and then I was persuaded to make a child avatar by one of my besties and wham... I was convinced they were awesome.
I think they're basically like everything, RL or SL. They're your own little community.
I've been through a fair amount of drama within the families I've been associated... Narcissistic mothers, Flirty fathers, Jealous siblings and a bunch of other unrelated nonsense... but let's be fair, everywhere you go there's that risk, and the only choice you have to make is whether or not the people you surround yourself with are people who make you happy, feed your spoon consumption and don't take more than they're willing to give.
So sure, I'm nervous as fudge... but I'm also excited.
Excited because these people are potentially new friends, and despite my difficulties in interacting I'm lucky to have been given the opportunity to meet people that mean something to my existing SL family. We have games and maybe a movie, and some gift exchanges planned, so yeah, I'm anxious... but it's pushing me to open up, and that's gotta be good.

I decided to add another picture of the Go&See Skin here, it's entirely unedited except for the background, taken in CAIWL windlight and I'm wearing the TAN version of the skin. All tones are available in the powder pack! I'm wearing hair from Tableau Vivant, and a Hairbase from Just Magnetized.
So I'm not gonna lie, I had a whole lot more planned for the above photograph. I originally green-screened the thing, but somewhere along my process I was smart enough to make the background white, despite cutting the green out, and by the time I'd figured out I'd royally effed up it was too late. I tried to do the whole "Let's cut around this picture" thing, but honestly, i'm not mad at how this came out, so you're just gonna be kinda stuck with your bog-standard blank background postie, and rest assured that I am still trying to learn allthenewthings and do sometimes make mistakes (shh! If anyone I know finds out I said that my reputation as a hard-ass, no-nonsense perfectionist will be ruined!).
There's a bunch of cool stuff shown in this pic today, and I want to start with the Saga jewelry set. I applied to blog for this brand thinking there was absolutely no way in heck that I'd be accepted, and honestly, I am stunned and overwhelmed with the fact that I was chosen to represent them. The quality is amazing, and trust me, because I'm picky af. Not only are there amazingly intricate mesh designs, but there's also some fabulous hud colours, of both the metals and the butterfly-wings on the earrings. I can't do these justice, but I can and will shout to the high heavens about the value you are getting when you purchase these items. Seriously. The heart-hands are appropriate!
I fell in love with this set of eyes from Lotus. I blogged them yesterday, and as usual, I'm left wondering if I'll ever want to take them out of my head (Things you can only say in reference to SL, huh?), this colour specifically was perfect for me, and the toning... uggghh, again, heart hands! There are plenty to chose from, and they're available in gacha form, so they're perfect for gifting or exchanging.

A lot of the time, dressing casually causes me great pains, but this outfit came together surprisingly easily once I'd added the Foxy hair. Part of me always wants to fatpack Foxy, because they're another brand that I absolutely adore, and are completely on my blogger bucket list. I have watched them expand from adorable little accessories which were always must have pieces, to the mega-hair-brand they now are, and it's been wonderful to watch the progress & the following the brand has garnered.

Hold on to your knickers, today's post is full of information about the products shown!
Back in September, DRD started a series called "Light and Dark" running on the concept of a subscription box. Over a period of six months, they released one mystery box per month, which you had to sign up for every month and pay for every month. At the end of the six month period, if you had managed to grab each of the boxes you were promised a light and dark building to match with the furniture as a bonus.
Not only have I been absolutely wowed by the furniture on a monthly basis, but I am also stunned by the buildings now too. When I logged in today and received the final box, I almost literally ran to DRD as fast as my pixel-legs could carry me, wearing my Subscription hud, I made huge grabby hands at the vendor, receiving my bonus houses. I. Freaking. Love. Them.
I know I'm only showing you a small portion of the latest box, in the light version, but this set is undoubtedly worth every single penny I paid for it. I'm never upset by the quality of DRD, and this is no exception. With the ability to rez the builds inclusive of furniture, or to create your own scene using the subscription boxes you've received previously, this is a fantastic end to a 6 month journey I took on an off-chance. Love.
Now let me just squee over this dress by Bueno. I say dress loosely, because as you can see by the main photograph, I've removed the shirt to add my own. Automatically this becomes a staple in your inventory, because it's now capable of being glammed up for a night out, or worn to visit your friends who don't like seeing your tits at every opportunity. (Although, who doesn't like tits?)
The skirt comes in several colour options available separately or in a fatpack and with it, you get a hud for the shirt (shown in pictures above) with a bunch MORE colour options for that (Yes, there's even more than those shown in the picture!). It's literally the mixiest and matchiest thing ever! You can even change the zippers through different metal textures too!
Finally, there's the pose from Go&See. I love how creative Go&See is, and the store reflects the different interests extremely well. Whether it's poses, eyes, skins, or add-ons, the quality is always there. These poses are from the *cool* range, and will be available at Chapter Four from the 4th February.
I feel like I'm on this path where I've hit a certain age and I'm tired of being mediocre, and want to be the best that I can be. I'm not talking in terms of anything particularly specific, but there are definite parts of my personality that annoy the absolute shit out of me. I can be a proper whiny bastid for one, and I often centre my attentions on people I care about, or things that are important to me - which isn't a bad thing, but it does mean I have silly opinions that shouldn't be too important for anyone else to live alongside. I've now taken on board a (possibly?) Arabian Proverb...
The words of the tongue should have three gatekeepers:
> Is it true?
> Is it kind?
> Is it necessary?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna become perfect. I don't expect to be, and honestly, if I didn't have the occasional Pickle rant that was potentially offensive to at least SOMEONE, I think I'd lose a part of me. However, the above rings true, and I want to be a better person, and not allow these negative judgments and thoughts spread to others.
I already know it's not gonna be overnight. I'm a horrifically judgmental person, and I'm aware that a lot of my issues are because I have a tendency to project. I assume that everyone is just as judgmental as me, when in actuality, I'm a speck of dust in the grand scheme of things and I'm barely ever considered by anyone outside of my circle.
All this said, don't expect me to become a completely different person. Not happening. I will just attempt to remember that it is NOT okay to silently judge, or loudly judge anyone, and rest assured if the ugly side of me pops up in a conversation, I will be over-thinking it until next week, kicking myself that i'm not finished learning yet. :P
I think we've all been in a position where we've heard a story about a person, stored the story in the back of our head having made a snap decision and then got to know the person in question, thus realizing the story was correct, or in fact very very false.
I can be super judgmental, and I'm the first to admit this. However, I will give someone the benefit of the doubt. Second chances are handed out like candycanes for me, depending on the length of time that has passed (I see it as scope for growth), or the severity of the first 'mistake'.
I do get it wrong, sometimes. I am human. There are times I have let the same people make the same fool of me over and over, to the point I know those I care about want to shake me, or I'll go the other way and cut someone off who really doesn't deserve it, purely because it's easier for me to leave them first, or because they're engaging with other people that I consider to be difficult.
Sometimes, the stories you're hearing aren't being told for you to formulate an opinion on, but for the teller to arrange facts in their own head. I know when I 'bitch' or 'vent' I'm doing it not because I actually think that-person-I-don't-know is an idiot, but because I need to make sense of the situation.
Most of the things I say aloud to friends, I will also say out loud to the person my rant pertains to.
Anyway. I guess I'm rambling because I heard a bad thing about a person who I consider to be good.
I questioned them.
Their response enabled me to figure out "my" side of their truth.
Maybe you'll afford someone the same opportunity one day.
Perhaps their truth will be something you can handle, or maybe you'll simply move on alone.
