So I had a rant yesterday, but you'll be pleased to know I'm feeling much better today... less bitter and whole lot refreshed and ready to provide some beautiful products from some wonderful creators.
I know I've used this pose before, but it really was perfect. As I was getting ready for this picture, my friend Apple told me "You look like a confused college student, that's there to study rather than party" so, I ran with that for a minute and grabbed some props, until Apple was ready to continue the story to it's thrilling climax.. " But you also want to save the hedgehogs, and the rally is on the same day as your final exam, and you need to pass it or you'll flunk the year, and have to redo it again, but that's just what your nemesis wants, the cool girl from the top table, she's even gone as far as getting someone to let the tires down on your car, so you have to run, hence the sneakers"
Today I'm showcasing the beautiful FKA skin from Revoul.
I knew it was a homage to the artist FKA Twigs, but honestly, I wasn't entirely sure who this person was. I've since watched a few of her music videos, listened to her music and done a little bit of research on her, and it turns out that not only is this amazingly talented woman a genre of her own, but she's also a bloody Brit! Go-on, Love! Also, can we just take a minute to admire the completely gorgeous hair styles she sports? Kthnx.
The inspiration behind the look today was based on FKA Twigs "Two Weeks" Music Video, which you can see right at the bottom of this post!

Above you'll find all the tones that are available in the FKA Skin Range. It's worth noting that the teeth are on the skin, so even when your lips are closed, you're going to see them. It did take me a minute to make a shape for my mouth, but I'm almost certain you'll agree the result is well worth it! There is a shape available from Revoul.. I just really enjoy making my own!
I roped in Potato for this post, and uh, kinda forced him into making over his avatar completely (not quite completely, but I did make him buy the new Lelutka "Guy" head). Seeing as how his internet hasn't improved over the past 18 months, it's impossible for me to find out exactly what he's wearing, but I -think- his hair is Stealthic, and his shirt is from Ascend... but I'm not certain, hence my hesitance in linking all the things.
Still, we look pretty, and clearly I'd much rather stare at him than the beautiful sunset behind us, so that's awesome, right?
I got super frustrated with this post, and for a moment I reverted into ungrateful, annoyed and super negative Pickle of last year. Not good, not fresh, not something I want to revisit, ever.
Luckily, Potato is incredibly understanding and fully supported me having a near-hissy-fit, calmed me down and told me to go the fuck to sleep (not quite like that, but he probably could have gotten away with it... maybe?), but yeah. Here we are 3 days later with an actual picture to show for his patience! I love that man.
Anywho, I know you're not here for my rambles, so have some information.
I'm a bit of a busy bee today. I'm dabbling in the DFS farm system in SL (again) at the moment, and so far, most of my day has been spent doing a quest for some Chives. It's all a bit bizarre, honestly, but I'm not mad, because it gave me the chance to edit some pictures and catch up on some of my favourite youtubers at the same time as completing it all. I may have gone a bit OTT though, because I bought 5 huds... and if any of you have already done this chive quest, you'll understand my slight amount of "omfg what have I done".
In other news, Moss&Mink has been very busy! I've paired together a bunch of her new items, available at different events which I'll of course list below... but all of them have a freakin' stunning finish and I'm once again blown away by how talented Cielo is!
There's also this adorable bodysuit from Miss Chelsea that I feel could be dressed up with the skirt (not shown) for a hot date or worn separately as shown above. The lace detailing is beautiful!
Lastly, Empire's shoes finish the outfit off with an appropriate amount of oomph!
I did a mix of green screen and inworld stuff, so the inworld sunflowers are from Little Branch.
I need to do a massive shout-out to Hayyz Resident today. We were discussing her recent headshots she'd taken using the pose above, and I expressed my absolute love of Sunflowers and she was so freakin' adorable and gifted me the poses to use myself... so thank you, sweetheart!

I am so grateful for Hayyz. I got her pegged entirely wrong when we met and the poor girl now has to listen to me apologizing constantly for my mistake. She's become someone who, despite my shortcomings, will reach out and poke me every now and then to make sure things are going well. Her devotion to her friends makes me want to be better to others too. Thank you for being such an inspiring woman with your actions, beautiful. You mean the world to me. ♥

The Xiao Catwa Skin is available at the Revoul Mainstore, and I kinda feel like I'm channeling a bit of Nikita Dragun (I might be slightly delusional here, let me have that one). I've shown the tones available above. My personal favourite for this skin is RE20 shown in the top right, but as you can see, all of the tones are stunniiiinnnnngg (more Mama Dragun?). I'm using the Magy Catwa head, but don't be afraid to give it a go on ANY of your catwa heads, just bear in mind that different heads have different shadings, and as always, your shape may need to be tweaked... be sure to demo first!
Finally I think I may have discovered the secret of showing off eyes & eyelashes! Not sure why it took me quite this long to figure out how to get them all in line, but huzzah for this small hurdle I have jumped over! Hi! I'm making this quick because I've probably baffled you recently with a bunch of skin stuffs and things, but this skybox and set from Bueno is LIFE. Seriously. Big love.
I have tons of things for you today, but before I start, I wanted to address something potentially a little sensitive.
I've been seeing a lot of "My favourite bloggers are..." on facebook lately, and as someone who is NEVER mentioned on these things, it can be a little disheartening. So, for a moment today I went into a bit of a "Fuck, why do I bother?" mode, but luckily, only for a moment.
You see, it suddenly dawned on me again that although I LOVE the opportunity blogging gives to me, I don't actually do it for other people. I do it because -I- love it. I do it because I've been able to watch myself grow and evolve over the three year period I've been doing it.
Like most people, though, I do have the terrible habit of comparing myself to others. I'm not the greatest, most talented photographer out there, but I have watched as I improve, and I always attempt to show the products off in a light that is flattering and real, and along with the content I provide in my blog, I'm actually incredibly proud of what I've achieved.
The other thing that suddenly dawned on me was that although I've had nobody on facebook shouting my name from the rooftops, I've had incredibly artistic friends of mine compliment me lately, and although I know that they're my friends and part of their job is to blow smoke up my ass occasionally, I am actually starting to believe their praise, that is pretty effin' cool!
The moral of my rant is, regardless of your position in terms of appreciation for what you do.. do it. Whether you're someone who can fart and be congratulated for your work, or whether you're someone who rarely gets noticed, if you're enjoying it for heavens sake, continue to do it! Don't be scared of new things, and continue on with what you love, because you really can't please everyone all the time.

Not shown here are the "no eyebrow" version, and that's just because i'm lazy, and also because I'm sure it doesn't take much to imagine the skin without eyebrows. :P

It's worth a quick reminder here that shape ALWAYS plays a big part in how a skin looks, and that includes with your body. I'm sure it's obvious that there are shading differences on the stomachs here, however, if your skinny body was actually skinny, the skinny applier would look skinnier. Get it? The same goes for the chubby and pregnant versions too.
Personally, I find these incredibly realistic, and I'm absolutely floored that Revoul can offer such different body types done to such a fabulous standard.

Ok so my brain has well and truly been up my backside today, and I've neglected to think of a subject to write about, also, tomorrow I will be going out with family for my first 'public' meal since I've been feeling better... so that's possibly weighing on my mind a little. I mean, who wants to sit a freakin' restaurant with a bunch of people they don't know, feeling super self conscious while celebrating a 40th Wedding Anniversary?
I actually asked my Dad how he felt about being married to my mum for that long, and I was hoping/expecting for some beautiful sentiment or maybe at a push, something flattering about his children (eg, me.) but no. The response I got was "To be honest, I'm kinda numb to it now."
Now I'm remembering and giggling to myself like a plonker!
