Ok, so this vid is a little weird and I think in an attempt to be edgy they might have cut corners.. but I actually kinda like the song, and the vid was just kinda.. unironically ironic and almost cool. *blinks*.
I'm loving this picture. To me, it looks like Pickle has had a pretty long day and is now sulking on the Moss&Mink chair because the magical Nope Cats by HEXtraordinary haven't made her a nice cuppa for when she comes home.
I absolutely adore these corset chairs. The detailing is so pretty, and the fabric really does make you want to reach out and brush your hand over it. Available with the corset chairs and table shown, are some pretty hanging lights - unfortunately, there was nowhere for me to actually hang them, so I'll save those for another day... just be sure to check them out while you're shopping at the first round of FameshedX!
I'd also like to make you aware of the pretty eyeshadow by Veechi which is available now at n21! Go grab it! The blending really is beautiful and I only hope I've done it justice in the close up below. It almost sparkles!
I made a small rant on facebook earlier regarding the useage of flickr for as advertisement for blogs and the information contained inside it.
From my perspective (and this is just a Pickle opinion), Flickr is a showcase of photography. It's not a blog, regardless of whether you're crediting there or not. Is it nice to get favourites on flickr? Yes! Do the amount of favourites on flickr affect the views to the blog? Not in my experience!
I know this is a bone of contention for a lot of bloggers/flickr'rs etc, and don't get me wrong, if you ARE crediting on flickr, fair play to you! But for the majority of us who do still use external blog-sites, such as blogger, wordpress, wix etc, flickr is just a numbers game.
I have over 3k 'followers' on my page for flickr. I often post a picture a day, and at the moment, i'm lucky if I get 100 likes. I use 100 as a bench-mark, because most 'sponsors' look for that level of favourites when you apply to blog for them, therefore, the numbers game is relatively important to your progress as a blogger.
I'm not complaining, I understand the more 'social' you are the better the response to your pictures, but again, from my perspective, flickr isn't about being social! It's about showcasing your pictures and being able to genuinely enjoy others work. Once it gets to a point where I feel like I HAVE to like and comment JUST to get favourites so I can appease sponsors, I kind of zone out, and being the anxious Pickle I am, I already worry I'm not showcasing a product in a way that the creator would approve of... seriously! Some days, blogging really can be 'work'! (Not that I don't enjoy it!!)
This isn't supposed to be negative by any means, I love flickr. I love the talent that I've found there. I enjoy the pictures, I'm grateful for the faves and comments I receive, and I sincerely hope they are genuine, because each fave and comment I give really is!
I'm very lucky in that hits to this site have recently improved by around 50% daily. This is incredible! I am overwhelmed and incredibly surprised by the amount of compliments I receive in world about my photo's and the blog itself.
Thank you to each of you who read or peruse my ramblings. Thank you for the silent support you show me, for the ridiculously loud support you give me (you know who you are!) and for generally just stopping by to check in.
Without you, this page would just be a bunch of Pickle Nonsense (and might still be *coughs*)!
There is so much brain activity going on in my head right now I'm kind of struggling to function.
This is amplified by the fact I've managed to completely screw up my sleep schedule! I'm mad at myself, but I know this is just me taking a step backwards before starting off onto my whole "New Pickle" regime again.
I've been joking lately that I'm going through an entire mid-life crisis. I feel like maybe I'm a little bit young to actually have a mid-life crisis, but then I remember that I'm only 19 in my head, and maybe it's completely appropriate to feel like a post-pubescent teenager again, 19 years later. (shh. I'm old ok?)
Ideally, I would use this time to buy a brand new car (preferably something fancy - and red. A Porche convertible, because it is Summer here, after all.) and then I remember I can't drive, so that goes out of the window. I'd also like a toy-boy... but only in theory. I've figured out that toy-boys are lovely to look at, but I don't game, don't like anime, and get tired of innuendos fairly quickly, so I reckon I'll just stick with single-dom until the crisis subsides!
I hope your Friday outlook is bright - don't forget to grab your 50L friday goodies!
I've been thinking for a while about this post. Mostly, thinking about the significance of the empty chairs. I think there's always a reason you do something in life, and sometimes those reasons are more obvious than others.
For me, I think the chairs signify that although I am somewhat broken, curled into a self-healing ball at the moment, there's still room at my table for good people. At least, I hope that's what it is.
I have really been making an effort to step out of my comfort zone, and off of my platform and encounter some new people. It's just terribly unfortunate that a lot of the people I seem to meet like to place me into a box that *I* feel I don't belong.
I get told I'm too much of something. Too serious. Expecting too much of people. That while I appear 'different' at first, I end up being just the same as everyone else.
I'm not sure if that's entirely true. I certainly don't feel like everyone else, and much of the time, I don't feel like anyone is ever going to understand me, much as I try to explain who I am... and those that DO know me, do they really know ME or just the reflection of myself that I project on them?
I'm in a bit of a weird head-space at the moment, trying to sort out my thoughts from my feelings, and I suppose that's kind of being reflected in this picture, too.
So I had no idea what I was doing today and took a nap before deciding to write this. Sometimes, you're in such a negative headspace that the only way to deal with that (for me) is to sleep it off and stop being such a giant misery-guts. So that's what I did... and thankfully, I feel much better.
I've spent the majority of today trying to come up with a name for the new club area at Consent, we're needing something gritty, urban and sexy... that obviously works with the whole theme of the current environment. However, all of us involved are at a loss and I know that I just keep circling around calling it "The Box". Which doesn't really sound very enticing. I think we need to think a little more haha.
Let me just squee about this dress from Miss Chelsea for a moment - I'm so in love with it! Very often in SL you get the idea of something transparent, but the rigging is slightly off and the clipping that occurs is terrible - but with this dress, I've not encountered that at all! My hair didn't even do that weird alpha thing, either! Also, the cute empire boots are beyond perfect for this. Just chill & sporty enough to match! Check out the LMs below.
Tank : ANTINATURAL[+] Post-Human / MerTank (Gacha) I modified this a lil too, can't remember if it's a lot or a lil bit because it was mostly a lot to do with the transparency.
Pose : Modified SO severely from the original, it's unrecognizable. Thanks Animare!
I was going to post a big old emotional post about this picture, but honestly, I'm still bleddy exhausted so know that there is a story, but I encourage you to make your own minds up as to what has happened to Pickle in this situation.
Meanwhile, I want to take a moment to let you know that during my week of illness, Red Light District re-opened for it's SECOND round. It's actually been open for 5 days now, and I'm kicking myself that I've only just started to peek at the goodies that have come in. Since April 15th, it's been in full swing. Once again, you can find all details on the website >Here< and in my humble opinion, it's definitely worth a visit. Many 'kinky' events seem to offer the basics. There is legitimately so much more on offer at RLD. Furniture, clothing, cuffs, masks, mother-effin' tentacles... yeah. Go check it out!
Skin : Essences - Tawny Group Gift(Note : There is a 100L fee to join the group. There's also a 100L SALE going on in store right now. You do NOT have to be in the group to take advantage of the sale, so head over and throw your money in that direction, skin whores!)
