Today marks my 999th post, and with that, I'm going to wander off until May 21st for a relax. However, at the same time I'm going to be working on bringing you a different kind of blog. Somewhere that will provide information, pictures and personal opinions in what I hope is an adult and respectful way.
I have big plans, and I'm so excited to share them with you.

I'm still exhausted, although I feel a billion times better than yesterday, so my hopes are high! I thought I might be coming down with a virus, but maybe I just skirted that, fingers crossed, eh?
I blame Narcisse for this extremely over-the-top Harry Potter themed post today. If the gorgeous little Seeker Necklace had never been dropped, I could have avoided this nonsense, instead, I went full Potter-head and grabbed a bunch of HEXtraordinary items too, because what's better than a little bit of Potter? A LOT OF POTTER!
I also feel like I could potentially be Harry & Hermione's lovechild, thanks to the glasses and the hair... but I'll leave that for you to decide.

I tried to catch the Dragons doing some awesome things, but I'm really not that awesome, and could only manage some basic gyazo gifs. It's worth remembering that the dragons are ANIMESH, so that means you're going to need a viewer that supports that function. The SL main viewer has it, and so does the Firestorm beta - which is what I used today.

Don't you start shaking your head at me, and trying to tell me it doesn't exist... you're likely to get a whole desert spoon thrown at your face!
It's a new year. I knew that it would be when I went to bed at 9pm last night, and waking up this morning it was true, but here's where the magic starts to work.
Every single day we have is a new start. I understand how easy it is to fall into the trap of feeling like you have to wait for something big to happen before you make the changes you need, but you don't need to wait for anything. You really can start today, or yesterday, or tomorrow.
The magic I'm talking about comes from inside YOU. Honestly, I know this might sound a little trite and contrary, but I don't even care. YOU have the power to make whatever changes you want to make, right now! It doesn't have to be a giant leap - if you can leap, great! I'll applaud you. But if you can only manage babysteps, and you're making an effort, I will without a doubt applaud you just as loud.
If you go to bed believing that you're a failure because that diet you wanted to start didn't happen, or because you didn't even get dressed today and it was supposed to be the year of getting your shit together, don't worry! Don't beat yourself up or deny yourself for a whole lifetime of tomorrows, but do ONE thing for yourself today, even if it's as simple as admitting you're a human. You can do it, if not today then TOMORROW.

Yesterday I wrote a bit that lead to a whole different wave of thinking, because hi, I'm Pickle, and my brain never stops.
For a long, long time I've felt absolutely fucking exhausted. I've spoken many times about my spoons, (original post >Here<) and how sometimes I just don't have the energy to deal with people, but recently I've made some changes in my life which has enabled me to spend more time with people who don't take from my cutlery drawer and who enrich my life... and I've also noticed that I've been more open to meeting and spending time with people who aren't directly "in my circle".
I really feel as though this is a direct result of cutting loose those who take. Granted, just because I feel drained by someone, doesn't mean everyone is going to be drained by them. Still, because I'm no longer hiding from those who constantly demand my attention and 'services', I have more space in my life to do things I actually want to do.
I'm not saying this is entirely the fault of other people, either. It's taken me a while to figure out that just because you CAN do something for someone else, doesn't mean you should.. and you should never feel like you have to agree or disagree with something, just because you feel like it's the right thing to do for them. Selfish is something I have always struggled with, and in an attempt to be selfLESS, I was giving too much through fear of not being accepted by others... and the real acceptance had to come from me.
Lawd.
Am I on my soapbox again?
I use this blog sometimes as an outlet, and I know that a lot of this won't make sense to everyone, but it helps me to figure out what's going on with the changes I'm making for me.. and if anyone relates then that's a bonus.
This scene was a little bit of a challenge for me, but ultimately I'm super happy with the outcome!
I really enjoy attempting to pull everything together coherently, while attempting to give a little visual story to go along with it. It's definitely a work in progress (as is my photography process in general!) and I'm thoroughly enjoying learning new things and trying new angles!
Happy days are here, and The Secret Affair has opened it's doors for the December round!
