Taken in the Trompe Loeil - Margaux Photo Backdrop + Surround
AHHHHHH
I might be a little excited about these Moss&Mink Computers!! HOLD ME DOWN WHILE I SQUEAL.
ok i'm done.
So i'm sure you've probably seen the inspiration behind this pic before, and if you haven't there's a little gyazo of it right >Here<
I searched for a couple of hours for a pose of it on marketplace last night, and then potatoman decided he'd do it.. and when I woke up this morning the sneaky little bugger was online and had completed half of it! How awesome is this!!?
Seriously, I am SO grateful for the beautiful people I am surrounded with at the moment, and often get a little teary eyed just thinking about how wonderful they are!
I've had this idea in my head for so ages, but finding a pose was exceptionally difficult... and then when i found the pose, the tree that came with it was all sorts of weird, and i had to resize a massive landscaping tree and OMG all the random oddness. Haha.
Anywho, Durex is back... HURRAY!! I gotta admit I really love how he looks in this! I have no idea why he's shirtless in the cold - some people are just bonkers, and as he's technically me I feel like this goes without saying.
I've used some mesh peoples in this picture, and the inspiration behind that comes from someone who's pictures I often admire from afar. Geena Carminucci can be found on flickr and on her blog. I thoroughly believe in giving credit where it's due, and if you don't know this amazingly talented lady's work, where the fuck have you been and what are you doing with your life?
I loveeee my facebook at the moment. So much absolute positivity, amazingly talented people sharing their artwork and general a feeling of love and community, and even though I'll always be a bit of a weird loner, I will ALWAYS long for more of these feels.
Merry Christmas, ya filthy Spoonies (make this a thing, love it, pls).
Ima is my Memaw! She's a super cute neko lady with a big heart. I only met her recently and I already feel a genuine kinship with her! She's kinda loud, but not (remind you of anyone?) and she dances to the beat of her own drum. I adore her muchly and I'm excited to find out where our newfound friendship will lead.
Nana is my SL MamaBear, which is kind of odd, because in RL I could actually be HER Mama. Still, despite the age gap, she really does provide some of the best advice I've ever had. She's definitely wise beyond her years, with a self awareness that makes me envious - how dare you be so smart and savvy when it's taken me this long, woman! Nana and I have been family for almost a whole year, but it's really only been recent that we've actually become friends, and I legit could not be happier that she is in my life. Her sunny disposition is without doubt catching, and she inspires me to be a better version of myself. Love you both, you crazy, wonderful, amazing ladies!
You can find Ima as Imajica Vemo in world, on Flickr and at her Blog.
And Nana as iNaomiBubbles in world, on Flickr and her Blog.
We're having a bit of a tropical Christmas in this picture, which was a bit of a challenge! I literally had so much fun taking this, with Nana's afking and a long talk with Ima, getting to know her more. This is one of my favourite pictures because of the memories that have been forged and the strength in the relationships that is coming my way with these beautiful women.
There's not gonna be much yapping from me today, purely because there's quite a bit of information that I neeeeed to show you!
Onwards!
xoxo
Go&See * Evoca * Poses available at the mainstore.
Also, it's worth noting that there's two versions of the tattoo I'm showcasing today from Dappa. The one shown is a LIMITED option, and there's also a sleeves-only option that doesn't include the chest piece shown on the one below. Both are amazingly delicate and I highly recommend them!
I'm kind of struggling to think coherently today, it's like I woke up with my head up my butt!
I even took a nap, but I woke up feeling like my head was even further lodged up there!
Anywho, as you may have noticed, I'm featuring more lovely Dappa things. I really loveeeee the colour tattoo's that are being produced at the moment and this one can be found at Limit8. There are two available at the event, and this one show is the limited edition version. I think the event opened a couple of days ago, so hopefully there's still a few copies to grab, but I haven't had the opportunity to check yet.
When I was younger, I did a BUNCH of activities. My parents were the pushy type, but honestly, none of us kids really had a talent for anything they pushed us into. My days were filled with school, and my evenings would consist of Girls Brigade (similar to girl scouts), Viola lessons, Orchestra, Ballet, Tap, Band, etc etc. This was pretty normal for us, and I never really appreciated it - probably still don't fully appreciate the effort my parents went to now, but at the time, all I wanted to do was go out and spend time with my friends, like the normal kids did.
Instead, I would be in a stuffy room, full of sweaty nerdy kids, struggling to par le' somethingorother or arpeggio badly on the viola.
One memory I will always treasure however, is being Frosty the Snowman for a dance show.
I know, it sounds dumb. It WAS dumb. It was SO dumb that my mum made my costume, out of pillow cases.
But no matter how dumb it was, I was motherfucking Frosty. I mean, how many Frosty's are there in the Frosty the snowman song? ONE. And I was it. That meant I was important. I had a freakin' solo.
I think I must have been like 13. Still petite then, because let's face it, doing all the things ALL the time keeps you fit and trim. I still remember opening night of that show, there I am, doused in the frumpy pillowcases of my rather creative, pushy mother, waiting for that opening of the curtain, the younger children running and screaming in the background, getting into position waiting for the music to start too... and then the curtains actually open.
I don't have a horror story for you.
It actually went really well, and the kids popped that hat on my head and I tap-danced my way across the stage with step-ballchanges and shuffles like a pro.
There's probably a VHS tape of it somewhere in my parents collection, shamefully.
This photo, despite being far more elegant than a frumpy Frosty, reminds me of the feeling I got at the end of that performance. The feeling of "Hey, I did it. All that work, all that effort, all that practice and it happened!"
I also just found out I have a niece. I've never been an Aunty before. Welcome to the world, little Harper. I can't wait to meet you!
Sometimes I like to watch the people on Youtube, and one of the chanels I enjoy is Safiya Nygaard.
If you don't know who she is, I've linked her stuffs >HERE<. Basically, what she does is take a theme for her video, usually fashion or beauty, and then she'll run off and make herself into a 1960's fashionista, or dress like a store mannequin for a week. She's fun, relevant and her personality is just quirky and awkward enough to appeal but be successful in her delivery of information.
In one of her videos she decided to dress for her star sign, and then followed fashion magazines suggestions for a week. This intrigued me, because I've always had a vague interest in star signs (not sure how much I believe, but I DO enjoy reading about mine) and obviously, fashion is pretty important to me too.
When I read the Gemini Horoscope from Glamour >HERE< the whole thing made complete sense, even down to the colour palette & textures used - which is actually one of my favourite of recent posts. I have always loved yellow and sunflowers, and even before I had read my fashion horoscope this post was in my mind... it's comfortable to me. It's wearable, fashionable without being in-your-face, has a pop of colour for a little bit of attention and I would honestly wear this kind of thing in real life. All the points on the Glamour article were correct - and it makes me wonder, ARE horoscopes geared toward being suitable for everyone, and its just coincidence that I fall into this category, or is this an actual science? I feel like I'll never fully understand the whole horoscope thing, but it's often fun to delve into it and have a look at how it's 'supposed' to impact your life.

The (almost) full range of Go&See * BonBon * poses @ The Secret Hideout, Almost because somehow I think I missed one. >.> It happens! I changed my hair here to MINA - Audrie, purely so that you could get a glimpse of the hand poses without them being obstructed by a bundle of gorgeous curls. These poses are available singularly or as a $L saving fatpack.
In this photo I'm wearing the new skin from Essences available at Kustom9. I absolutely freakin' love Essences skin, and they have been a staple in my life since my Pickle avatar was created (and before that, too). Needless to say it's an honor to be permitted to blog for the brand. The lips on this skin are EVERYTHING for me, they just look so soft and pouty, and that's something I enjoy immensely. This is the Pale01 tone, and it's the palest of the regular tones which I favour during the winter months. I've previously mentioned the eyebrow colours too, and Essences include black, brown, red, ginger, blonde & no brow options in every release.
My eyes are by Lotus, I'm using the catwa applier version on my unrigged catwa eyes.
With Lotus, you can absolutely guarantee perfect eyes every time. Her textures are flawless, and the closer you get to the eyes, the more detail you see. There's also an amazing shine on the eye without even using the materials option on the viewer. All her eyes have a different colour-palette and are completely different, in incredibly subtle ways. These Escapism eyes are exceptional and if you can pair them with the catwa eyes with the dilating pupils, it brings them to life in a very special way.
The glasses are from #Shook. I was directed to this store by a friend, and immediately decided I loved the quality. These are the Lunari glasses, and on popping them on my face, I squealed. The frames are SO delicate that I imagine they would feel very light on my head haha.
Lastly, if you haven't visited the "deciduous" sim, you really should. It's beautiful!
