Check out the quick lil' video I did on the Grande Carousel!
Once again, Potato's net is being mean. I'm almost 100% certain he's wearing hair from Doux, Tattoo from Dappa, Outfit from Legal Insanity and maybeee his shoes are from Deadwool.
I have a big ol' project starting soon, so please excuse me if I don't write as much as usual in the interim! There's still a bunch of information for you to find here, and I hope to pick up my nonsense narrative shortly!
Bag : [VALE KOER] KEEPALL BAG @ N21 (Note : This bag comes with an animation, but is MODIFY. I took the animation out and re-edited the bag to fit with this pose)
Once again I stole Mal for a quick picture. He makes quite a good man-dolly, poor Durex is no doubt quaking that he has lost his spot!
The idea for this picture is that Mal is getting ready to go to work, but being the super needy Pickle, I've jumped on him. I think it's fairly obvious from his expression that he wasn't expecting a chunky lump of me on his back! I hope you enjoy the pretties today, and while you look at all the credits, I'm going to jump back on him, because No, No. You cannot has the work today. Ok?
I logged into facebook this morning and was promptly reminded that today my blog is officially three! I'm absolutely astounded I've managed to be as constant with my posts as I have been, and above all, I'm amazed at the personal journey I've been on and the growth that has occurred since the start.
When I began this blog, it was to appease a force in my life that was not only rather manipulative, but also never complimentary towards me after our first week of meeting. I tried over and over to 'start' but it wasn't until we'd parted ways that I realized I didn't have to satisfy anyone but myself.
Kaleidoscope has seen me through the loss of friendships and the birth of new ones, helped me feel more confident in myself both in SL and RL, and has allowed me a channel that has served as a sort of therapy for me. It has become a labour of love. A place for me to be unequivocally me.
At first, I was scared to write. I still wonder some days why anyone would want to read my drivel, but knowing that there are others who face similar issues to me has led me to believe in myself more, knowing I am not alone in the way my brain might work occasionally is a massive relief.
At the start, I never even thought about applying for blogger positions within SL. The idea that somebody might want little ol' me to promote their items when there are so many insanely talented photographers and bloggers about was akin to insanity... but let's face it, I'm slightly bonkers! After a few months I did begin to apply and while I have faced many, many rejections there have also been celebrations when brands I have always adored have taken me on. Some were temporary. Others were tiny stores at the start that have gone on to accomplish some wonderful things, and watching these brands and events grow as I have has been the most brilliant experience.
For anybody that is still trying to get their foot in the door in terms of blogging, the only advice I will give you is to do it for you. If you don't love it, you're not doing yourself or your future brand investors justice. I truly believe that every picture I take comes from my heart, and I will continue attempting to weave stories and improve my photography until... well, just until.
Happy Birthday, Kaleidoscope.
Thank you, yeah - you, for reading and peeking my pictures.
Plato apparently said "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything."
I have to admit, I kind of agree.
I have never been overly passionate about a particular band or style of music.
At 7 or 8, my next-door neighbour went to a Michael Jackson concert and bought me back a program. Instantly I decided that I was going to marry him, and made it my goal to learn (very basically) the keyboard notes to "Beat it".
At 11, I started to get really interested in learning to make my own music, and eventually was chosen to learn the Viola (instances of that nonsense have been previously spoken about in this blog!).
When I was 16ish (shh), I thought I had a crush on Gary Barlow from Take That - but I didn't really. I just wanted to be accepted by the kids at school who thought Take That were the shit.
It was around the same time I was lucky enough to see The Rolling Stones in concert (admittedly the only concert I have ever been to), and without a doubt it is something I will remember forever, despite not being a superfan. The atmosphere was beyond amazing, all those people of different ages coming together, celebrating the sound of Mick Jaggers impeccable vocals.
Breaking up with my first 'proper' boyfriend at age 18 left me sobbing as I clicked record watching MTV, capturing all the sappy lovesongs I could possibly think of on VHS and then in an act that now leaves me cringing, I passed the video to his friend to give to him. Ugh. I'm pretty sure Britney Spears and BackStreet Boys were prevalent across that awful, embarrassing vid.
When I found out I was pregnant, Pink Floyd's "The Wall" became super important to me - my daughter kicked IN RHYTHM for the entire song when I was in the car... and when she was born Travis' "Flowers in the window" made me cry and Plumbs "In my arms" made my heart explode.
When I broke up with my Fiance, and I thought my world was ending, Leona Lewis and Three Days Grace pulled me through, my bedroom windows open and me singing loud enough to disturb the neighbours #noshame.
More recently, my Daughter performed Adele's "Chasing Pavements" in public, and now I can't listen to that without remembering the pride I felt watching her confidence shine.
What i'm trying to say is that for every important part of your life, there has probably been a song that you can relate to. A memory that is attached, whether good or bad.
I revel in these songs, these moments, and I hope you do, too.
I've spent most of today faffing about like a complete lunatic, doing lots of nothing, so much so that I actually made plans for tomorrow. Shock horror!
Once again I'm left without much to say, other than I sincerely hope you see Pickle as flying, because she's far too strong to fall!
I adore these froggies from Culprit at Enchantment this round. The large toad Pickle sits on is a rare mount version - there are four of those colours to collect, and the smaller frogs are common companions, with several varieties to grab!
Once again you'll find me at LazyDaze - purely coincidental, but it's also worth mentioning Adam's Photo Challenge again and if you need more details you can find them on his facebook page >here< or contact him direct in world under the user name (Das1980 Resident).
Adam and I were having a little chat the other day, and while we talked we reminisced about our days at school. It reminded me of a time when I was about 11 or so. I was bought up fairly strictly. I was the first child of three, so I was paving the way for my brothers, and I tested my poor Mum and Dad regularly. On this particular occasion I had been invited to a friends house. My friends Mum was far more liberal than my own, and before dinner we were shoo-ed out of the house and told to go to the park across the road for half an hour to give her some peace and quiet, something I'd never be allowed to do if I was at home. Once we'd got to the park, we were greeted by several people from school - the cool kids.
Now, I've never been a cool kid. I can't even pretend to be remotely cool. I'm too emotional, I laugh too loudly and at my own jokes, even when they're not funny. I've never worn the right clothes or had the right haircut to fit into that particular clique, and for the most part, I was okay with that. However, seeing how accepting they were of me that day, I was eager to impress.
"Let's play a game of tag!" << That was Ross, the cutest boy in my class. And the meanest.
Naturally everyone agreed.
Quickly, rules were put into place. "We're gonna leg it from this wall, to that slide and then back again!" << Ross. Ugh. I hated that I liked him.
But seriously, what the fudge did 'Leg it' mean? I had absolutely no clue! I had never heard this term. My parents were older than most, even then, and no one I had ever been around had used 'Leg it' in a sentence. I wracked my brain for an idea, and finally, just as everyone had lined up, I'd decided I knew exactly what it was.
"Three, two, one, GO!"
Ahh fuck.
So they all start running, and there I am, 11 year old Pickle... HOPPING.
Location : Backdrop City (I forgot to note the background, so sorry!)
I've always believed that when you apply stress to a situation it has two probable outcomes.
1. You apply the pressure slow enough, and with a steady enough hand and it actually improves the results, ending in you learning from your experiment and giving you a positive result.
2. Due to carelessness or impatience, you overload the situation causing a negative response and thus rendering your experiment a failure.
I understand this is probably fairly cryptic, but there's legitimately so much going on right now that this faux situation makes complete sense to me for several issues that i'm currently addressing.
Sometimes, life can feel like you're standing at the bottom of a giant trash mountain holding nothing but a plastic spork, when really what you need is a JCB and the team from "Hoarders".
My only option is to take one day at a time, laugh at the mistakes and the occasional rubbish bag that rolls down the mountain, and keep my chin up, because finally I can see the sunrise behind that mountain of shite.
Also, as a side note; while I consider myself a little bit of a warrior for a better understanding of mental health, and less stigmatizing, I truly believe those of us who suffer from issues need to take responsibility for ourselves sometimes too. I know from experience this is incredibly hard, it takes introspection and a certain amount of self-examination, plus the ability to be completely honest with yourself. However, behaving like a shitty person cannot be blamed on your mental health, because despite your issues, the majority of the time your decisions aren't based on your mental health, but on your personality. If you continually make shitty decisions, and they negatively affect those around you but you choose not to do anything about you, that doesn't just mean you're 'mental' and you cannot keep blaming your 'issues' for them... instead, you need to take responsibility for yourself and understand you are being a terrible person and make the changes necessary to improve that. Only YOU can do that.
I'm not going to write a great deal now, because I've already posted once today and I think that's enough Pickle-Dribble for one day.
Instead, please enjoy a regular installment of Man-Pickle for your viewing pleasure - and remember, TMD closes soon, so this is your last chance to pick up the amazing offerings for this round, so get there quick!

Being the crazy English bird I am, I took a chance on heading over to the Peaky Blinders sim, which is of course based upon the Peaky Blinders series. I was incredibly pleasantly surprised by the composition of the English Countryside they've achieved here, It's absolutely beautiful, and there are so many lovely little spots to take pictures. Apparently they even do Open Mic nights and have rentals.
I ran in to a couple of the owners, and they were super welcoming too, so I really feel like this is a place to watch out for. Thanks for bringing the creativity & beauty to SL guys, big thumbs up from me!
Also, I'm well aware of how weird it is to claim I'm an "English bird" when I'm rocking Man-Pickle in all his manly glory. Pls just love me. <3

We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it is we did wrong. But we think you're crazy for making us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us: in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions.
But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain,
and an athlete,
a basket case,
a princess,
and a criminal.
Does that answer your question?
Sincerely yours,
The Breakfast Club.
Ok, so we all know this story by now, and if you don't, you really need to get on this shit and watch The Breakfast Club. I mean, it's been out for like 35 years, so you don't have any freakin' excuse and it's also on Netflix (watching it again now as I type!)
It's the quintessential 80's movie, which, if re-booted today, would still hold up in terms of story lines and characters. Perhaps those simplistic labels would be different, but the labels would still be there.
I had to think about this outfit from Miss Chelsea.
I mean, I knew it was based around the "Criminal" character, but I've never really dabbled in being that person.. and although it comes with an amazingly cute "Guilty" choker (optional), I swapped that out with the "Loner" one from Quirky purely on the basis of that is how *I* see myself.
I feel like we can all be a little of everything - and I think this entire outfit has pushed that out of me, to the point where I didn't even realize I was encompassing almost all of the labels mentioned in that letter until now.
Pickle the brain : I like words. I like creating images with words. Not particularly good at retaining information, and give me a maths problem and I'll immediately get out a calculator or take my socks off to be able to use my toes to count higher, but I'm not stupid (all the time).
Athlete : To be fair, the only thing you're going to catch me running for is more pizza, but I do wear trainers/sneakers a lot? :P
Basket Case : This one appeals to me! Hi! I'm Pickle, and I'm fucking crazy!
Princess : Dabbling in make-up, painting my nails, keeping up with fashion? Yes please! This is an INNER me though, in RL at least. SL allows me far more creativity to be girly and pretty sometimes, and I don't feel weird when I wear all the pink things (again, sometimes!)
Criminal : Although I've never done anything over-the top, I think we all done something we shouldn't have. Maybe something morally questionable, or uh, you know, something your parents wouldn't have liked *coughs*, yeah. That'll do.
It's been made for the event "The Clique", which as you probably know by now is a music & fashion event in SL based around the whole movie of The Breakfast Club. If you haven't already visited, it's well worth checking out, so hit those LM's below and get ready to part with your Lindens!
Hands : Maitreya Mesh Body - Lara (Yes you can wear your Maitreya hands! Activate SLINK FIT on the Belleza body, but be aware you WILL need omega/maitreya enabled appliers for skins & tattoos! There's also a slight clipping when wearing long sleeved Belleza fit clothing)
