SL Halloween never fails to disappoint me, and perfectly on cue, we have a myriad of creepy events already started and of course, some fabulous ones yet to open this month.

Today I'm showing the Go&See Skin available at The Dark Style Fair. It comes available in 6 Tones, Albi, Goth, Pale (Which i'm wearing), Tan, Tropic and Cola.

Below you can see a sneak peek of the face options. The bloody lips are only available in the white brows option, but you can pick up a "dropy lips" applier for any mesh head at the Dark Style Fair, which also has a bloody version included! Yay!
I'm really looking forward to this month in terms of blogging and photography - I'm not often an overly 'creepy' styled Pickle, but I do love being challenged, and I am thoroughly up for attempting to create some new looks!

I ALWAYS get squealy when Saga pops up with a new release, and once again the quality doesn't disappoint. The earrings, bindi and nose piercings are all going to be available at the Level event opening on the 30th July.

Adam and I were having a little chat the other day, and while we talked we reminisced about our days at school. It reminded me of a time when I was about 11 or so. I was bought up fairly strictly. I was the first child of three, so I was paving the way for my brothers, and I tested my poor Mum and Dad regularly. On this particular occasion I had been invited to a friends house. My friends Mum was far more liberal than my own, and before dinner we were shoo-ed out of the house and told to go to the park across the road for half an hour to give her some peace and quiet, something I'd never be allowed to do if I was at home. Once we'd got to the park, we were greeted by several people from school - the cool kids.

Now, I've never been a cool kid. I can't even pretend to be remotely cool. I'm too emotional, I laugh too loudly and at my own jokes, even when they're not funny. I've never worn the right clothes or had the right haircut to fit into that particular clique, and for the most part, I was okay with that. However, seeing how accepting they were of me that day, I was eager to impress.

"Let's play a game of tag!" << That was Ross, the cutest boy in my class. And the meanest.

Naturally everyone agreed.

Quickly, rules were put into place. "We're gonna leg it from this wall, to that slide and then back again!" << Ross. Ugh. I hated that I liked him.

But seriously, what the fudge did 'Leg it' mean? I had absolutely no clue! I had never heard this term. My parents were older than most, even then, and no one I had ever been around had used 'Leg it' in a sentence. I wracked my brain for an idea, and finally, just as everyone had lined up, I'd decided I knew exactly what it was.

"Three, two, one, GO!"

Ahh fuck.

So they all start running, and there I am, 11 year old Pickle... HOPPING.

I'm hoping this photo reminds you of a modern day fairytale. That was kind of what I was going for. Maybe a Snow White or Sleeping Beauty (pre-needle to her finger), wandering contentedly through the forest in relative innocence before any bad-things occur.

I've always struggled to take photo's with softer windlights, but I'm exceedingly happy with this one. The only thing I did differently was take my time, so I guess I need to stop being impatient!

I had plans to sit here and type out something about labels, hence the "Vain" and "Fuckboy" crowns on Durex and Pickle's head.

However, after the couple of days I've had I've decided to move on from that, and instead vent a little instead.

Sometimes, I put myself in situations that might not feel good for a while. Not because I like not feeling good, in fact, I hate not feeling good, but because if I don't experience a little discomfort sometimes, I'm concerned I'll allow myself to do nothing but stand on my platform and zone out to youtube or edit photo's for days. For me, often being around people equates to awkwardness, and yes, I can come across either shy or stuck up when I do eventually leave my platform, which again bugs me because I believe I'm actually highly approachable.

However, recently there seems to have been yet another spurt of "Let-me-be-your-friend-so-you-will-do-things-for-me".

I've been in SL for almost 10 years. I know how it works. I have basic knowledge of most things now, and I suppose I'm fairly creative and also understand the basics of making things look pretty, whether that's people or places. I've done a lot. "Owned" clubs, experimented with creating, I can edit basic scripts and sometimes my pictures aren't too shabby either. Basically, when it comes to SL I'm a bit of a mediocre Jack-of-All-Trades.

I suppose this is quite appealing to a certain type of person. Unfortunately for those types of person, I'm starting to notice.

The truth is, if you offer me friendship without expectations and show me you want nothing from me other than conversation and laughs, I will probably yank off my shirt and throw it to you whether you need it or not. I'm quite a generous person (generous, not stupid - anymore) and I like nothing more than to be a help to those I love to be around and who have shown me love in return.

I'd actually respect someone a lot more if they just came to me and offered me a business proposition rather than pretended to be a friend before trying to get me to do something for them. Three times lately I've felt the need to just nope out of a situation because I saw through the BS, so please, please... for the love of all that is pizza, stop being dicks to each other (yes, me), and start respecting people (again, me).

Everyone wave at Durex again! I'm thoroughly enjoying him right now! I wanted to push myself a little today, so we're featuring a couple of skins from Go&See. I find it kind of cute when couples in SL match, but also sort of don't so I'm hoping I'm pulling that off with this photo.

One thing that means a lot to me in a picture is emotion, and another is telling a story.

The story or the emotion can differ entirely depending on perspective, but whenever I take a picture, those are the things that are important. Things like eye-contact, touch, body-language are big players in this to me, maybe because of my RL situation right now I'm kind of missing some of these things, but I like to at least attempt to portray these in SL.

It's kind of odd to me, because when you develop a relationship with someone in Secondlife, you're not really seeing any of these things from the offset. You have to express these things with your words... which I think is why I enjoy attempting to show relationships so much with the emotion we miss from our barbiedolls.

Still, they are just barbiedolls, and there's no doubt for me about the importance of connecting beyond the mind too.
