I may have gotten a little confused with this picture, as I've used me, three times, greenscreened to get this result. For that reason, I don't have any pose credits, so sorry!

Please don't get used to this. I'm just well rested and currently in advance of my projects, which is awesomeeee and another sign that I'm heading in the right direction!

Today I want to give an absolutely massive shout out to Narcisse. There's no doubt that there has been a massive leap forwards in quality in a fairly short span of time; I find the designs to be inspired yet original, and the textures always blow me away due to the use of materials (Materials are what makes the fabric look kinda shiny, and the shine will move with your camera angle, depending on your windlight. On the dress above, you can also see that certain points of the fabric look raised, and that too is down to the materials.).
Narcisse is in my opinion a brand to watch and I'm super excited to be able to showcase her fabulous products along her journey.

I'm joined by Hayyz today, and I'm absolutely chuffed she could pop over and take a picture with me.

I've not always been the kindest person towards her, but I have always been honest... and luckily, we've come to a place where we can poke each other gently and get along rather nicely.

I'm going to drop her flickr >here< and her blog >here< and politely request you give this budding blogger and photographer a follow and show some support. I can't wait to watch her and see how she progresses.

In other news, I've been watching Youtube a LOT lately. I suppose I'm feeding my need for nonsense with that rather than SL drama... which I have mixed feelings about, and will probably be addressed some other time...

Anywho, the commentary guy was saying how he felt like anyone who could be constantly positive and wanted everyone to play happy and be nice was fake, and I wanted to talk about this.

I don't think it's 'fake' to focus on bringing people together and making things happy.

I do think it's fake when you're doing those things because you think it's the right thing to do to make people like you more, or to push you further into a community or scenario based solely on the 'good' you do for everyone else. Let's face it, doing nice things for people makes you feel good. If it didn't feel good there'd be even less of a chance of us actually attempting to please others. I think the important thing to remember in doing nice things, is that we are doing them just to be nice, without alternate motives and without expectations of reciprocation.

The commentary guy also mentioned how being spiteful and angry was a natural emotion, and I definitely agree.. but just because you are angry, or feeling spiteful or some other negative, that doesn't mean you have to follow through and hurt someone because you hurt.

If I'm on my soap box, I apologize. I'm definitely not good at any of this at the moment, but I'm hoping that by putting all my feels into words, and expressing myself I can not only understand everything a little more, but maybe encourage a discussion or thought in others, too. It'll also be a reminder to me to work on the way I deal with my own personal situations, I'm definitely not the woman I was last year, and I hope I continue to grow and learn to accept myself and others.

Kinda sleepy today. Had an appointment at stupid O'clock in the morning so ofc, my anxiety being the beautiful monster it is, decided that there'd be no sleep the night before. When I did finally lie down, the next door neighbours decided it'd be a lovely time to start hammering and sawing directly outside my house, so yanno, thanks for that! I reckon I've had maybe 2 hrs sleep so I might be slightly bonkers!

I spent a long time on this photo, and I've been attempting to take a little longer with the original pictures rather than the editing. I'll never be a super photography expert, but I do enjoy having a bit of a faff with the photoshop things! If you haven't already noticed, I've added a new page to the blog, being resource tutorials that I've found helpful. Mostly it's photography, there's also a few speed edit channels and a channel dedicated to caring for your blog. I'm no genius when it comes to blog layout - I like something simple that I can understand without too much clutter - but starting my blog I used this channel to help with header set up etc.

Anywho, you came for credits, and here they are... because right after that I'm gonna go and attempt to sleep again so I can regain an ounce of normalcy!

I know, I know, I ran away and didn't tell you!

I'm sorry!

Sometimes, mental health just creeps up on you and finally, for the first time in almost 10 years, I decided to distance myself from SL for a while.

Some of you will know that this is incredibly difficult for me. For a long time, SL has been somewhat of a crutch, but in recent months it's also become more of a beast in need of caging.

I can't help but see how SL is a boiling pot of people, all coming together to suit their own agendas, and in theory, that idea is beautiful. In reality, what seems we have discovered is that when our masks come off, humanity doesn't seem to care too much about others. We don't have the time to find ourselves, and we're all so hurt that hurting others is an easy alternative to focusing on our issues and building ourselves up. The society of validation has become ridiculous.. no one is responsible for your happiness other than yourself. I can't compete with social media likes, and I refuse to be one of the sheeples that incessantly kisses ass in order to become a someone.

This isn't linked JUST to SL and the internet, but the whole world is in a really crazy state of turmoil, and if you can't see it - I pity you the most.

I am tired.

We are ALL tired.

Plans for the future? Well, I'm going to continue to work on myself. I really do have everything I could possibly need in terms of material items and emotional support. I have a good group of friends that understand me and can kick my ass if needed, but will also lift me up and be legitimately proud of my accomplishments.

The whole idea of someone blowing smoke up my arse in order to make themselves feel better fills me with horror, and I can no longer be a party to allowing those people in my life.

I hope to continue to take a step back away from SL. I think it's going to be a very slow process, but I can see what a negative distraction it can become, and while I'm involved, I'd like my experiences to be filled with positivity, beauty and creativity.

My whole little mental health journey is taking some interesting turns.

It's become apparent to me that there are far more negative energies in me that I was aware of. I mean, I know I'm not perfect - show me someone who is, but recently I have really begun to notice some disturbing patterns. It's not malicious, but sometimes I am hurting so much because of some ridiculous ideals I have in my head, I end up purposefully causing pain to someone else. Misery loves company, right?

Let me explain a little more.

I am not delusional enough to think that I am always right, but part of me is delusional enough to think that I am always right. That means there's a constant struggle in me, the knowing deep down that 1. I cannot control other people and their reactions to my actions and/or words, and 2. sometimes, I'm the toxic one.

Naturally, that fills me with absolute fear, because I don't WANT to be toxic, ever.

Ultimately, now I have recognized these disturbing bad habits, my goal is to change the way I approach those situations. I'm pretty old now, so undoing that amount of "oops no" is gonna be pretty tough, but it's baby steps! As with everything I am discovering about myself and the world around me, I am going to be taking three steps forwards.. before freewheeling two steps back and then starting again.

I'm grateful for those who see the good in me, regardless of my ew, and have been reminded regularly of the quote;

"What you value, you invest in."

and sometimes, you need to invest in you.
