Usually at this point there would be a list of items in the background and a pose credit, but obviously, there's absolutely no point as this is just my face. I hope you'll continue reading, however, because I have a bunch of information about the Lotus skin & Eyes used in this image shown below!

All of the informational things :

For those of you who aren't familiar with Pocket Gacha, it's basically a hud-based game of chance that works exactly like in-world gacha machines. A bunch of creators are involved, you grab a hud and rather than teleporting to a laggy sim where you can't move and nothing rezzes and OMG I'M BEING EJECTED BECAUSE MY SCRIPTS ARE TOO HIGH, you sit in the comfort of your platform/house/that one dance club you like, and click through until you find something that sparks your interest. You then select the option to either pay the hud in Lindens, or specially purchased credits, and play the gacha you desire until you a. get the item you want, or b. give up and cry 5ever. Like all gachas there are a set RARE percentage, and with some creators there's the option to purchase a full set without even playing on the machine and trying your luck! For more information you should check their website at the link up there ^^, because I'm faffing and probably explaining super poorly! :P

ANYWHO.

Lotus has released this deliciously lovely skin & eye set called Rebecca, especially for the March round of Pocket Gacha. Here are some pictures!

This is the Rebecca skin, in CalWL on Ultra grapics in Firestorm viewer. I haven't used any shadows, and there is no shine on my catwa head, also, zero editing in photoshop other than the cropping effects when I popped the pictures together.

This is my favourite tone! It's my humble opinion that the Lotus skins have come on leaps and bounds in this edition, the textures are much smoother, and the detailing across the nose and lips are much improved! I'm a real sucker for a cute button nose, and I don't feel at all let down here. I'm also absolutely in love with these cat-liners. They're sharp and realistic down to the matte effect on my eyelid, and I am doing some serious heart hands!

It's worth mentioning that ALL the skins, whether common or rare come with the body applier huds for Maitreya and Slink, so you can guarantee a match for all of your bits at no extra cost. Honestly, each one of these skins are lovely and I'm ecstatic to be able to add them all to my collection!

I'm not really a big fan of kids movies anymore, despite loosely identifying with the "babygirl" tag (that's a story for another day), but I KNEW I had to watch the BFG when I found it on Netflix and was absolutely delighted when Santi said he would watch it with me! As soon as it started I was transported back to being a child, and reading the original book by Roald Dahl, the movie really didn't disappoint me in the slightest. I grew up on Roald Dahl. If you don't know who he is, he's also responsible for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Witches and my personal favourite - The Twits!

I adored the main "human" character, Sophie (If I remember rightly, that's either his daughter or Grand-daughters name, and she was a model back in the 90's-2000's), and watching her wander around wrapped up in a blanket (kind of like Pickle is in this picture) right at the beginning, inspired me immediately. I only wish I had some Snozzcumbers and I can't wait to do a right ripping Whizpopper!

“A whizzpopper!" cried the BFG, beaming at her. "Us giants is making whizzpoppers all the time! Whizzpopping is a sign of happiness. It is music in our ears! You surely is not telling me that a little whizzpopping if forbidden among human beans?”

Finding the pose from Reve Obscura, and the blanket from Momochuu meant my dreams could finally come true! However, this actually took me nearly two whole days to put together, which is a really long time in Pickle world. I'm not sure why, but for some reason, the way I was thinking wouldn't translate to the picture I was taking.

However, I'm super pleased with the way it turned out and with a couple of added effects in photoshop, I really feel like it has bought to life that child-like wonder we tend to loose a little as we get older.

I tried something a little different with this post, and went for a full-on girly Fem-boy look. It's something I've been considering doing for a little while, as I was lucky enough to meet the creator of the V-tech boy chest through a friend a while ago, and he was super sweet! Not to mention absolutely freaking adorable to look at. Pair that with the fabulous items he makes for the chest (with added 'regular' maitreya rigs, too) and the current round of RLD having another creator involved with items for the *boy* bodies (and men, and futa's and.. well, people with penises who aren't necessarily male.. ugh. Labels), I figured now was the perfect time.

I've done femboy before on my alt, but this is BY FAR my favourite look for it, so far. Finding a skin can be fairly tricky, so when I stumbled across the Lumae skin at Ostara's Altar and it included a v-tech applier, I knew now was the right time. 

I know I've said this at least two times lately, but every time I have meant it. This Lumae skin is beautiful. I don't think I appreciated it fully until I came to edit this image, because it was then that I noticed small details like the creases along the palm of the hands, the shading across the fingers by the fingernails, the tiny, teeny little cleft between the nose and the mouth, the way the eyelids are shaded so intricately and fit perfectly against the shape of my catwa head... I cannot imagine the amount of love that has gone into making this skin, and one day I hope I have the time and the spoons to be able to do a full review. When you add to that the price of the skin for the special version available at the Ostara's Altar event, this is a genuine gem. I think it was between 500/600L for the head and ALL the the appliers you can shake a stick at! This is a MUST demo!

I love this Foxcity set, and the moment I saw the colours, I knew it had to be done. It's not new, and I know i'm late to the game, but just go with it okay?

I live about 40 miles or so from Central London, and as with most big cities, it's really difficult to get into the middle of the Capital by car. I've had a few experiences with London Transport, and for a while it was a very regular experience when I would need to travel into London to head north to Scotland. Everything about this Photo Booth is familiar to me, from the fabric on the chairs to the vents under the seat and the no-smoking signs. It's been a while since I have traveled into London via Train/Underground now, but looking at this picture I can still hear the automated voice of the announcer stating the name of the next station, and the loud echo of footsteps along the platforms.

The one thing that does seem to be missing that I'm not at all mad about is the worn-out feel of the seats, the scuffing of the floors, the graffiti and chiseled in initials and words along the windows of the train, this is definitely a new carriage, and that's pretty darn rare!

I'm feeling oddly nostalgic now, and I can't help feeling like Man-Pickle is doing the same thing. He might be off to meet the boys for a casual night out (most nightclubs around London have a dress-code, he'd definitely not be allowed in with sneakers and a cap) at a regular pub hangout. He's just chillin' out, getting comfortable, watching the world go by. I only hope that as the carriage becomes busier he's not too much of a dick to stand up and offer his seat to somebody who needs it. Be a freakin' Gentleman, Man-Pickle!

One thing I want to bring to light is that just because a skin looks a certain way in an ad, doesn't mean it's going to look the same on YOUR SHAPE, on YOUR HEAD. I feel that with guy-things, it's easy to look at a product and nope it out without giving it enough attention. Many skins, many products will work for you, if you just give them a chance. It's also important to go into demo-ing with an open mind, try things out, expand your horizons, guypeoples! Be a more fashionable you!

When you apply for any new "sponsor" as a blogger, it's always a bit of a hit or miss situation. Being that I'm the super over-thinking bunny I am, I have learned a few things along the way. Let's discuss a couple of them!

Be patient!

I see so many "start" a blog, do a couple of posts, and then give up 2 months later. There's no shame in this. I tried two previous times before blogging stuck for me (no, I won't share the links, they're awful - even more awful than the posts at the start of this one!) What I have not done is immediately apply for sponsorship. There is so much to learn in terms of website details and promotion (a lot of which I STILL don't understand, and many, many people are far superior to me when it comes to this), along with not knowing if you're actually going to enjoy the blogging process itself, it's almost too selfish to get that spot you want, only to throw it away a month later because you can't be bothered.

Also, if you think you're going to get into blogging and get a bunch of amazing "free" things, you're right - HOWEVER there is a pay-off. Very rarely am I able to enjoy the items I'm sent before I move on to the next post, and the next photograph, this does not mean I do not appreciate the quality of an item, or the level of experience that item took to create! Also, the amount of L's I spend adding details to get an outfit to work is often extra-ordinary! I am not complaining! I love doing what I do, and I am SO, SO grateful to the amazing sponsors I currently have, and have been blessed to work with in the past. Just know that blogging, like whatever you chose to do in life, should be a labor of love, and not JUST to get free things from that store you like a little bit.

Most stores when requesting bloggers ask for between 3 months and 1 year of blogging experience. Take your time creating a bucket list of stores you would love to blog for, and bear this in mind whenever you apply for a store you think is "well they're ok but i'm not passionate about their products" and don't give up on those "ok" stores if and when your blogging improves to the point that you're able to garner interest from the stores you adore, because those little shops put you where you are now.

Don't apply for everything.

There are SO many brands that I absolutely love in SL at the moment, and so many times I have looked to a store and gone "I'd love to blog their products." The truth is, I don't apply for every store, or every blog-call from the stores I love, and it's because I already have commitments to people who have supported me from the beginning and who I continue to adore blogging for. If I take on more projects, that means less time for those and more stress for me. At the time, it might seem like a wonderful idea to have 7 hair stores, 4 shoe stores, 13 clothing stores etc etc, but as your blog grows, and as their brand grows too, you're going to have an absolutely massive influx of items suddenly appearing in your inbox, and no way of honoring the commitment you made to everyone.

Another reason I don't always apply to brands I love is because although I love them, I may not have purchased an item from them in a long while, which  means not only have I not shown I am a customer of theirs, I am not displaying their products in my blog, therefore, the creator/blogger manager has no idea how I would blog them.

It's okay to be butthurt when you don't get selected...

but don't take to social media to slam the creator/blogger manager! The market is absolutely flooded with talented photographers and bloggers right now. It's insane! There is SUCH a high standard that it is near impossible for those creators and blogger managers to choose who should represent their brands. Add to that the fact that personal taste is so diverse, you could be the best photographer in SL, and STILL be rejected from your favourite store, purely because your style doesn't fit the branding of that store's products in their head.

I'm 100% certain that creators are grateful for your support in purchasing their items. If you're bad-mouthing a store purely on the basis that you didn't get selected, you're not doing them any damage, and there's the old adage that "Any publicity is good publicity". Also, on a more selfish note, you're going to rule yourself out of being selected in the future as a blogger for them, and run the risk of other brands witnessing your verbal tirade, and blackballing you too.

There's so much more to the whole blog process, and these are just a few bullet notes.

I'm not claiming to be some blogger guru, I'm just a chick who likes taking photo's and occasionally veers off on a tangent to rant before showing you the pretties.

I think I may have squealed and had an "OMG!" moment when I saw this set from MadPea at this round of Red Light District.

A very bad secret I keep is that I used to have a brothel in SL. I mean, a lot of us have maybe dabbled in the whole sex industry in SL, purely because it's SL and it's kinda naughty, but still safe. But back in the day (We're talking 2008-2013) I would have absolutely killed to have had a set like this. Due to time restrictions I was unable to take a bunch of photographs for this, but let me just tell you if you have plans to open up a club of ANY type, I can really see this build being a centrepiece, the floor is open, there are cute little cubby holes for a more private feel, while still being able to interact with the rest of the room, and there's also a smaller upstairs area perfect for adboards or photo's or a snuggle area. Really, just the building itself couldn't be more perfect.

Add in all the extras - the poles, the lighting, the hanging cages, the seating, etc etc etc, you legit have a fully formed club that just needs a couple of personal touches to really push it over the edge. 

I want to briefly touch on the CandyDoll boots, too. 

Something that always makes my heart happy is when you are able to style items in a way that can be downright filthy, or adorably cute. Those multi-style-able items are a constant when you purchase anything from CandyDoll, and the colour selections are out of this world too. So whether you're a dark, brooding goth chick, a cute pig-tailed babygirl or a mishmash somewhere in the middle, you're bound to adore these boots, and most of the CandyDoll creations, too!

Today's post is going to be epic. I am literally going to throw information at you and expect you to completely understand, ok? Good. 

Again today I have woken up with a bunch of spoons in my pocket. This makes me incredibly happy! I am also prepared for today thanks to completing the photographs for today yesterday! LOOK AT ME GO, being all organized and shiz!

I've never done a post of this size before, and I know I've made a couple of oopsies, but I implore you to overlook said oopsies and love me anyway, so uh, here goes nothing!

I'm going to go ahead and focus on the Go&See skin, available at the skin fair at the moment.

It's called Katarina and is available in 5 tones. Here's a picture of the tones!

From left to right, Goth, Pale, Summer, Tan & Dark Tan.

For the following photographs I have used the FIRESTORM viewer, on ULTRA with the windlight CalWL. The pictures are unedited except for the cropping effects.

My personal favourite is the pale, but that's probably because of the white hair i've chosen for the blog today. All of the tones are gorgeous - flawless in fact. Another bonus for me was that it fit perfectly with my shape without a tweak necessary, and as I've said before, that's a massive bonus!

I'm also sporting the white eyebrow version, but there are THREE options for eyebrows! The other two are shown below.

It's worth noting that the head skin is on an OMEGA applier. I'm showing it on my current Magy Catwa head, and I didn't try it on any other head, purely because of the fit I mentioned above. However... if your head is Omega compatible, this skin will work. 

I want to go ahead and remind you that just because a skin says OMEGA compatible, it doesn't mean that it will automatically look great on your head. Sometimes you're going to have to tweak your shape to make it look good. Please, please don't be scared to do this! I know that many of you enjoy your look and are reluctant to change, but know that sometimes, the smallest little fiddle with your sliders can turn you from "OMGWTF?!! :( " to "OMG! WTF! :) "

I was a little overwhelmed with choices when I saw the body huds for this skin because there are LITERALLY SO MANY OPTIONS I COULDN'T BELIEVEEEEE IT.

Below I will show you some of the boobies!

These are the 'normal' breast options in Tan tone. The only reason I skipped up to Tan was because for photography reasons, the differences just stood out further.

On the left, the body is softer, and on the right you might notice a little more rib action going on.

I want to point out here the collarbone definition, and the elbows.

It's been a long time since I've looked at a skin in such detail and honestly had a "Wow" reaction, but let me squee and tell you it happened with this. Also worth a second look are the knees (shown in my regular 3-panel picture) and the absolutely adorable belly button that makes me wanna stick my tongue in it. I'm pretty sure I could find an animation for that if i looked hard enough! xD

On the left is the first cleavage option with the ribs, and on the right, the second cleavage option without. Both the first and second versions of the cleavage come with the rib & no rib versions on the hud, so play around and figure out which one you like best.

Far left is booty option one. The only way I can describe this is that it has an element of realism that I personally feel has been missing for a long time. There's extra creases along the under-butt, and also slight hints of imperfections and maybe even a little cellulite. I sorta kinda love this option!

Middle and Right options - I gotta be honest, I don't see a whole lot of change here. The skin is a lot smoother and the imperfections less obvious. However, not shown in any of these pictures are the front view options of the "booty", and the body hud has them in abundance. As comfortable as I am getting down and dirty with tits and arse, I'm not overly confident with getting my foof out and parading that around my blog quite yet, but let me just tell you if you struggle finding a foof that makes you tingle, you will definitely find it in this hud. On top of the foofage, there's also "hip" options, and I'm sure the differences come down to the slightest shading that I can't pick up because I'm not nearly as fancy and talented as Kristyna of Go&See.

I really really cannot suggest you demo this skin hard enough. All the body huds are on omega appliers too, so they will work for ANY major body brand, so long as they support the omega applier & you have (where necessary) the required omega relay/support.

If you're already an owner of the drool system by Dirty Secrets you'll be familiar with the hud included, and there's even an extra hud so that you can work both the drool & tears together without needing both individual huds on your screen at the same time.
