I'm going to keep this short and sweet today, mainly because I'm hoping to pop out a Man-Pickle post. I feel like he's been neglected lately!
My inspiration for today was the amazing sweater & leggings from CandyDoll. Yes, we're squeeing all over them, why? Well, if you look closely, you'll see that not only is it a bit nipply out, but the butt (shown below) is legitimately amazing.
Not gonna lie, the whole ensemble took me a minute to put together. Again, some of these items might be a little on the "older" side of SL fashion, but honestly, the quality is still there, so I'm going to rock all the things in my inventory until they wear out!
When I popped the Little Bones hair & hat on my head I knew I was finally getting somewhere, it really gives the impression that Pickle is a Russian Countess (I don't even know if they have them there, but I'm going with it), waiting for her driver after an expensive luncheon with one of her lady-friends. Mhm, today I am a Lady Who Lunches.

Boy am I glad to be back on the CandyDoll train! Expect an influx of their amazing content over the next few days/weeks, because they really are one of my favourite secondlife brands for clothing & shoes. Their textures are soo good and their fits are just perfect! Also, *most* of the time they make items for almost all the popular bodies - make sure you check the advertisements to be 100% certain, though.
I've been favoring my Belleza Freya body for a little while, and it's always lovely when a creator I love makes an item that is almost a perfect fit. Of course, there will always be little pieces you need to alpha out on the hud, but I really can't argue with that - I mean, what's the point of having an alpha hud if you never use it? :P
There's a mix and match of old & new in my post today, hopefully all the items are all available still, but if not I'm almost 100% certain there are more 'modern' alternatives. I have about 23423423563092 unicorn things in my inventory, so they can't be too difficult to find either on marketplace if they're gachas, or in other mainstores if they're no longer there. I'd like to think that my outfits are used as inspiration, rather than copied in completeness, but however you choose to use the looks I present to you, I'm grateful for your readership <3
I was talking to my SL brother, Kim, today. He was discussing how he'd felt so much better since he'd gotten closure with a negative entity in his life, and sometimes it's nice to just put things behind you... and I while I agree completely, it's lovely to be able to close a door on someone/something and have nothing but positive energy, it's not always possible.
I think I tend to focus a lot on negatives for myself. With other people, I can almost always see a bright side, and I suppose that's quite nice if you ever come to me for advice.
Anywho... I know I have a terrible tendency to put situations in boxes in my head and then leave them there. The only problem with doing that is that they're never actually 100% resolved, and there's an odd residue, or a trail of broken neurons or something that just don't connect to anything anymore. Closing those doors completely might be beneficial, but at the same time, what if the responses you're met with aren't what you're hoping for?
I'm going to mull this over for a while. Maybe there are some synapses that I can reconnect to lost boxes safely.
For the longest time I thought that SL was all I could do. I mean, I'm not an expert at it, but I've been using it for like, 10 years, which is almost forever. Of course, this isn't my original avatar and there's been several incarnations of 'Pickle' but she's pretty much the longest serving avatar I've had, minus an old *cough* work av *cough* and my child avatar who's just always been a kid (We'll maybe step into the child world sometime, but for now, yes, I have one, no, she's not a pervert and luckily I've not encountered much of that gross crap during her 9 year existence.) I've always wanted to try other games. I've joined in with people doing things for very brief periods - WoW, LoL, Rocket League, Tera, Final Fantasy... that's just a few I've dipped my toe into.
For me, it was never about the game itself (although I do have to be able to 'invest' something into it), but more to do with the people I played with. If they had an interest, it was far easier for me to ease myself into it too. Unfortunately, I'd never met anyone with the patience to actually be like "Hey, you're doing alright.. try this!" which meant that often times I'd make a fool of myself and get told off by some non-noobalicious person in-game and feel like poop and just stop playing all together. I need the motivation of good people, basically, or at least a slight knowledge of how the thing works, through experience.

I've never been one to sit and write down a bunch of feels. It's awkward, and I always wonder how genuine it makes me appear, but even with that anxious part of me going "Pickle, this is a terrible idea" another part of me wants to explain the inner workings of uh, well, me.
I've said before that having a positive person in my life has changed me immensely, and the whole playing games thing has changed with it. I can't tell you how lovely it is for someone like me, with all my foibles and weird little quirks to be able to nuzzle into someone so completely tuned in to me, some who squirrels away all the little details I vent/rant/cry/talk about and make all the things actually feel like all the things. His encouragement is a brand new kind of encouragement for me, and it's amazing and wonderful and brilliant and bright.
He's encouraged me to pick up other games, and will contentedly and patiently walk me through even when I'm having my stompy-feet-I-can't-do-it moments.
And it's not just games, either. He's in my head telling me I can do the basics too!
When I'm having a bad day, he's there to say "It's ok."
When I'm having a good day, he'll tell me "I like hearing you smile!"
It's little things, tiny gestures that have always been missing. That I've done for others and they've fallen by the wayside, and linking back to the post I did about "Learning how to love each other", I feel like I've met someone who completely links in to how to love ME. I just hope I can do the same back, because I do not want this one to go anywhere.

Stepping into the new year, I feel like I should have a sense of excitement and newness and part of me is excited & feeling that certain things are new, but that has nothing to do with the 'new year' and everything to do with the relationships that are currently being formed in my circle.
I have never been one for resolutions, believing that a new year doesn't necessarily mean a new beginning, because you can choose to start again whenever the heck you like.
I guess "not having a resolution" is my only resolution this year. I don't feel like I NEED to change anything right now, I feel like I'm motoring along quite contentedly, holding hands with someone I enjoy the company of, sitting next to a few good people, and hopefully making the world slightly more sparkly for the people around me I care about... because right now, there's nothing but bright lights ahead, and it ain't no train.
