I'm super sleepy in the face today, I think maybe the weekend is catching up with me.. so maybe it's early nights for Pickle for a while? I mean, probably not, but I'll lay it out there and pretend like I'm sensible.

So yesterday, my rl daughter turned 16. I officially am OLD. I mean, I'm okay with that, but I'm definitely not okay with the fact that my only baby is now half an adult and legally allowed to do a lot of things I'm not sure I even understand yet... but I'm learning to deal with that! Anyways, that's kinda why you missed a post from me yesterday. We had a delicious meal at a lovely restaurant with the rest of the family, and there were no melt downs (even from my 10 month old niece, yay Harper!), and everyone came home sleepy happy with the fooditis.
In SL news, Essences has completely redone their skin tones, which means you lucky Spoonies get a look at the entire new range, I know, I know... Pickle, you're always making us read, whyyy? Because I know that you secretly want all of the information, right? Maybe not, but if that's the case just look at the pretties and scroll down for all the details!

These are the new tones from Essences! Starting top left, there's E1, E2, E3, E4 and on the lower row, E5, E6, E7, E8. I've also chosen to show you all the Lotus eye options too, because that worked so well in the last skin tone thing I did and hey, might as well carry on with being pretend organized, right? (Not like i've been writing this since 10am this morning or anything *cough*)

I realize that this might be a slightly unusual turn on Man-Pickle Monday, but honestly, I'm not sure how much I care today! SL is a place for expression. It's a place people come to be something they're not, or everything they are. Something they can't be, but something they feel they should be. For me, it's an outlet where I can experiment with creativity - sometimes within the perimeters of an avatar, and other times with decor and pictures.
I love that there are creators within our community that will push the boundaries of 'normal' expectations and make items for all types of people regardless of labels.
Also, can I just swoon over how much fun i'm having with the Red Light District event? If anyone has followed me from the start of my blog will be aware, I have steered quite far away from anything remotely risque, but this has pushed me and thrown me out of my comfort zone a little, making me re-think the way items are portrayed. and allowed me to get a little kinky and different - which I absolutely adore. Here's to pushing the boundaries further in the future!

Quick note about the table namesake... I didn't know Garrett amazingly well, he was an acquaintance and an occasional friend. Learning of his passing obviously made me incredibly sad, and reminded me of the times he'd come to my parcel after a live show and stand around shooting the shit with a bunch of us. Whenever I interacted with him, he was immensely positive, funny and always, always encouraging. This is the memory I will take away of his persona. The message on the notebook on this table simply reads "Garrett was here". And he was. It's a wonderfully simple tribute to a wonderfully strong man. You'll be missed, G.
