Today has been slightly insane. Not only has it legitimately taken 2 days for me to set up a bunch of eggs behind my avatar, but it's also been one of those real life 'family' moments I'd really rather forget.
I've never understood the point in silencing someone when they have something to say, unless it's derogatory to another party. I don't understand how senior citizens can believe it's okay, either.
So after the big emotional rant from yesterday, let's dial it back with a little fantasy, yah?
Fantasy Gacha Carnival is still on! If you haven't been yet, you absolutely HAVE to go. Why? Because I'm being a bossy boots, and telling you to!
Even if you're not really about the RP and fantasy life, there are some wonderful "statement" pieces from the creators that you can incorporate into every-day looks to give them that little slice of glam.
I think my intention with this look was to try and pull off "Slightly Crazed Shaman."
Generally speaking, I feel I pull off slightly crazed without too much trouble. The Shaman part was the difficult bit! I've included a little video of the hand sparkles underneath, too. Although I've just shown one version, there are of course several options and the corset/modesty pad set comes in various colours too.
I hope you enjoy this look, as usual it's a fantastic honor for me to be a Fantasy Gacha Carnival blogger, and I adore the push it gives me to try things out of my comfort zone.
Pose altered with animare to the point where it makes no sense, and the background is drawn in photoshop! <3
As soon as I put this outfit on from CandyDoll at Collabor88, I got Charlie's Angels retro vibes.
I used a green-screen background for this, and it's not something I do very often because it just doesn't feel 'real' to me, but in this case, I wanted to do something different. I wish I'd spent a little more time on it, because now I see lots of little pieces of green that I didn't quite get out (shh Pickle, don't draw attention to the faults!)... but I suppose if nothing else, this was a learning curve. I wasn't expecting to be able to draw the background - but they're all basic shapes that I just filled in using the bucket tool once i'd drawn them, so that was okay too!
Anyway, as usual there are details below with all the Landmarks attached. Happy shopping!
Who doesn't love some cute little chickies and geese? Honestly not sure I'd throw my hand into a bucket of chicks because I'm pretty certain geese can become kinda violent, kinda quickly and I'd like to keep my fingers intact!
I love the colours of this Miss Chelsea outfit. The bright oranges and blues are making me get all excited for summer, with images of seas and sunsets. The outfit is of course available in an array of colours, so if these don't appeal to you, don't dare miss out on snapping it up in a more pastel theme or less bright theme. The hair and Dappa Tattoo are giving me absolutely massive boho vibes which is a big thumbs up from me, as I'm a bit of a boho girl at heart.
The wrap around shoes from Empire are in my opinion perfect when it comes to finishing the outfit.
Hoping to be back in a few hours with a Man-Pickle Monday post, so hang on for that!

Hey!
Today might be a mishmash of crazy, because I've really, really been working on this post on and off all day (two days now. Shh), while being slightly distracted by other things. Mainly friends, and hot chicken wings, and the occasional netflix... today has actually been a really nice day.
For the most part, I feel like I explain myself quite well. Sometimes, however, I'm certain that my words get misconstrued and the quote "I'm responsible for what I say, not what you understand" comes to the forefront of my mind. I try to be clear and concise at all times, but even then when I am being my very plainest, there can be unanswered questions.
I feel as though if you (the collective you, not you personally), have questions, you should seek answers to them. If you feel something, you should express it. I believe in attempting to be unequivocably honest with yourself and others so that you can get to know you, and everyone around you knows where they stand.
Yet somehow, there's still room for questioning your motives, or 'people' (again, collective, not personal) can make you question yourself.
I think I might be slightly sleep deprived right now, and I'm not 100% that I'm making sense. Haha.
Ultimately, be human, be open, be honest.
xoxo
Find your pretties :
There are literally so many things here, I'm a little bit nervous to begin adding a list. Most items are Moss&Mink, and should be available either at the mainstore, or at the event listed. If you need clarification at any point, please don't hesitate to reach out either by comment here, or by IM in-world (LollipopLace Resident)
I'm pretty sure I've explained my love of Sunflowers.
I'm beyond excited to show off this gorgeous Dappa tattoo, and it took me a moment to decide how to portray it. Literally, this tattoo just melts my very soul.
I know I talk about when I was younger a lot, but Sunflowers are one of the few things about my childhood that literally fill me with all the happy. I remember growing them at school, and having silly little competitions with my brothers to see who's can grow the tallest. I remember them growing in my mums garden, covering the fence and the trellis, making the garden look like it's surrounded by sunshine. I remember drying out the heads when they're finished and hanging them up so that the birds and squirrels could munch at the seeds.
They also remind me of my Grandad, but I don't really know why. Maybe somewhere in the deep recess of my mind there's a memory I don't quite grasp, but it's quite likely my Grandad grew these in his garden too.
I hope today is a good day for you. Shine bright, my lovelies.
Well this took a minute to work out. Apparently Blogger doesn't want me uploading any pictures, which is a right royal pain in the butt. Luckily for you, I don't give up and finally found a way to embed my picture from flickr - if for any reason you can't see it, or it poofs, please let me know as there are some truly gorgeous things in the above photo!
On lighter note, I want to say I'm definitely feeling a little better again right now. Hopefully the worst is over and I'll be back to normal again shortly, posting daily and not having to concern myself with uploading my photo's via flickr *waves a fist at the sky*.
I'm absolutely loving this lingerie and nipple piercing set by Miss Chelsea, which is going to be available at ROMP as of May 12th. It's a lil cheeky, but as usual, the level of detail is just astounding, and I got SO many compliments about how it looked, it's most certainly worth a purchase.
You can find the skybox/loft at 6 Republic by Tableau Vivant. The background isn't part of it, I edited the Trompe Loeil Margaux surround to fit it, but I think it works pretty well! It's actually a fairly large space, with a smaller upstairs area and I'm sure I haven't done it nearly enough justice. The windows just filled my heart with happy, though, and I truly believe it would make a stunning home.
Bad Unicorn are absolutely killing their decor sets lately. I've been making grabby hands at a lot of their items, but for some reason I struggle with fitting it in to posts. I guess there's worse things to practice tho! This set is called "Messy Monday" and you can pick it up at this round of TMD. There's literally a MILLION (ok slight exaggeration) textures for the bed covers!
CandyDoll as usual have pushed the boat out with these gorgeous shoes, which just topped the entire outfit off for me. The padlocks and chains (along with a hanging logo that I hid) are removable via hud. As usual, they come in an array of colour options, and these are available at the Kinky Event's current round.
Doing this kind of a photo has always scared me a little bit. I mean, in theory, it's a lovely idea. In actuality, the process can take a while when you factor in everything that needs to be done from set-up, to different perspectives people have, to editing etc. Luckily, the two girls (Paloma doesn't count, because she's me) I chose to do this with are wonderfully patient and amazing friends... so this was actually a good time and not nearly as stressful as it could have been!
I can be kind of bossy, and I already had this plan in my head. Not being 100% up on the Battle Royale movie made it a little difficult, but then the Juniper stepped in and schooled (see what I did there?) Cielo and I, luckily, it kinda made sense.
I had visions of the movie "The Craft" in my head, the promo poster where the girls are strutting through the school as if they owned the place. I wanted to embody that confidence. Girl gang ftw!
Paloma is obviously cowering in the background with her rather pathetic frying pan, hoping to avoid too much of the fighting, but Cielo, Juni and I are going for it full force. I just wonder who's going to be the first of us three to die, and will it be by the hand of one of us?
For Cielo's version check her flickr >Here< and for Juniper >Here<
JIAN Pudgy Persians 14. White Grubbin' Kitten (Gacha)
Sometimes when I take a photograph I'm not aware of a story before I've taken it, so I make one up on a whim until it makes sense in my head.
For this, we're in the not-too distant future. Man-Pickle is venturing out on his own for the first time, just him and his kitty, Chronic (idk, it sounded manly in my head. Love me?)
There are plates in the sink, because who likes washing up anyway, and there's a soup on the stove that will probably last him four or five days, because who even cooks?
His cupboards are almost bare, but so long as he and Chronic have a roof over their head, and the basic amenities, he's content.
I really enjoy the bizarre juxtaposition of the semi-futuristic arm and the retro-esque kitchen in this picture, and as usual, I have absolutely zero complaints about anything shown, except the very minor clipping of the sneakers and the pants - but c'mon, it's so tiny I can't even be mad about that and didn't edit it out at all >.>

Skin : STRAY DOG - TREY @ TMD (Body textures updated, get a redelivery @ the mainstore!)
I had an entirely different idea for this outfit, I figured "Oh hey, it'd be really ironic to put this hair on, with those naughty pants, and do 'sexy lumberjack'", but the truth is, Man-Pickle just looks far too good to be ironic right now. Instead I'm doing "I'm at my girlfriends apartment, having a quick pee and a last look in the mirror before I go into the bedroom and seduce her". -shrugs-
I chose a Michael Jackson song for this picture. Mainly because the title is "Man in the Mirror." I was apparently 8 years old (shh, I'm getting on a bit), when he performed this at the Grammys in the video shown below. I admit, although I've always enjoyed MJ's music, I've never really watched his older videos. I guess they're all older now, because he's passed and I'm OLD. However, this particular song has always been one of my favourites.
When I was a child I had a keyboard. It taught you how to play popular songs at the time with a little red light on the keys. The light lit up when you were supposed to press down, and the only thing you had to do was to remember the rhythm. This was the only song I knew at the time, and I soon learned how to play the basics on the keyboard by religiously (and probably rather annoyingly for my parents) repeating it. It wasn't until I was older that I actually understood the lyrics, and not even then did I comprehend the massive impact MJ must have been having at the time by bringing world issues to the forefront of people's minds.
I guess we'll never really know the struggles this amazing artist went through, or the truth to the controversial issues we've been privy to, but I can't deny that even now, 30 years on (groans inwardly, 30 years!!), Man in the Mirror still makes my skin break out into goosebumps, and that's a pretty amazing feat.
