I seem to be suffering a little from writers block at the moment.
Enjoy some information about things underneath the picture below while I watch all the netflix and wonder what the fudge has happened to my half-working brain-muscle.
It all started with the hair. I know. You've probably seen it blogged already, but seriously - how can I not love these twisty curls and delicious little pigtails? I'm an absolute sucker for big hair, and I would kill for this style in RL.
Add to that the brand new tank & sweater set from NS store (there's a massive hud with options to hide the tank or the sweater, change the colours of the tank and change the design of the sweater!), and the ripped pants from the Evani Gacha and I was legit in love.
It took me a minute to figure out what I wanted to do with this, and then it hit me that I'd make a wonderful singing Pickle, somewhere random, just not giving a flying monkeys about who was around me... and that's how Netherwood came into play!
So here you can see a wild Pickle in her natural habitat, leaning up against a vintage gas-tank type dealio, her music up high and her eyes closed as she completely forgets her environment, and gets completely lost in her favourite song... hopefully, not scaring the animals. :P
It all started with this gorgeous tattoo available at this round of Bodyfy from Wild Roots, which I absolutely adore. It has a little of everything - delicacy, colour and it's placed along my thigh and up to my tummy... which I've always found incredibly sexy. Next thing you know I made it my mission to become the Peacock Lady of SL, while showing just enough of the tattoo to keep an interest haha.
Luckily, these Bueno shorts are coming to Kustom9 on the 15th just in time, and show off more than enough flesh while managing to stay cute and hide all your naughtybits!
Some of these items may be a little older (the Zaara earfeathers, for example), but what's the point of them sitting in my inventory if I can't use them sometimes?
On another note, I briefly explained yesterday that the Hello Dave appliers I use for my Astralia nails have been discontinued. I did notecard the creator, and received an IM back from her today stating that she no longer makes for Astralia nails (a personal choice to go along the Omega/Maitreya route), but would be super glad to pass the Astralia appliers out, should anyone still need them - and as they were a gift, they will always be free. Yaaaay!! So, for the record, her name is Maia Gasparini, and I am so impressed with her customer service, I might just wander back over to Hello Dave and pick up some appliers for some other nails now, too, just to try them out of course. I mean, you can't have too many nails, right? :P
Doing this kind of a photo has always scared me a little bit. I mean, in theory, it's a lovely idea. In actuality, the process can take a while when you factor in everything that needs to be done from set-up, to different perspectives people have, to editing etc. Luckily, the two girls (Paloma doesn't count, because she's me) I chose to do this with are wonderfully patient and amazing friends... so this was actually a good time and not nearly as stressful as it could have been!
I can be kind of bossy, and I already had this plan in my head. Not being 100% up on the Battle Royale movie made it a little difficult, but then the Juniper stepped in and schooled (see what I did there?) Cielo and I, luckily, it kinda made sense.
I had visions of the movie "The Craft" in my head, the promo poster where the girls are strutting through the school as if they owned the place. I wanted to embody that confidence. Girl gang ftw!
Paloma is obviously cowering in the background with her rather pathetic frying pan, hoping to avoid too much of the fighting, but Cielo, Juni and I are going for it full force. I just wonder who's going to be the first of us three to die, and will it be by the hand of one of us?
For Cielo's version check her flickr >Here< and for Juniper >Here<
Pose (Pickle) : *!R.O!* Travel BENTO Pose (Note : this pose comes with a mesh suitcase, which I have switched out for a Doe Monster bag from The Arcade)
I had an entirely different angle for this picture envisioned in my head, but seriously, who can resist a lil bit of ass?
Santi is my man-dolly for today, and I won't be listing his items because of a complete lack of spoons. I do know you can find his boots at the current (March) round of FaMESHed, and most of the other items have been listed on his blog "This Guy's Eye". We used a motorbike from the clearance section of [Sau] too, and I thoroughly recommend visiting to demo their bikes, because they're stunning quality and have tons of options.
This is the first post I've done with Backdrop City involved.
I try to steer clear of brands and places that have any sort of controversy associated with them, but for the sake of this post I had to make an exception. I sincerely do not understand why there is or was an issue with the Backdrop City sim, All I can see is that someone has taken it upon themselves and filled a niche for photographers and bloggers. I think this is a wonderful advertisement for the creators involved in making backdrops, and it's definitely somewhere I will visit more often when I have limited funds and a specific idea. Being a blogger or photographer even with a massive sponsor list can still become an expensive hobby, so to anyone willing to help out with creating special moments with SL pictures, I have to throw my hands up and cheer for bringing the community together in such a thoughtful and creative way.
Pose (Pickle, Right) : *!R.O!* Rain BENTO Pose (Note, this pose comes with a mesh umbrella not shown. The Parasol is part of the {moss&mink} Cake & Lace Pt2 (Gacha) @ The Arcade)
Paloma is making her return to the blog today in order to showcase the pretties I couldn't fit into yesterdays postie from Moss&Mink. I know, I know. More Moss&Mink, but I'm not even sorry!! The cuts of these dresses are absolutely gorgeous, and the designs are different to anything I've seen on SL. They're wonderfully detailed - as usual, the dress that Paloma is wearing has an adorable cut between the skirt and the top that just shows the slightest hint of skin, and the lace detailing in the dress Pickle wears is... well it's stunning, along with the cute bow around the and the delicately placed flowers across the skirt. I love that once again Moss&Mink has managed to make me feel both girly AND womanly with these amazing dresses.
I'm glad it's March now, because although the ground in my RL is covered in snow at the moment (thus causing the whole of the UK to go into a melt-down - I mean people are literally skiing to work, but that's another story) it reminds me that spring is most definitely on the way, which means cute baby animals (C'mon goats, make me babies and put 'em in Pj's!) and slightly warmer weather, colourful flowers and sitting in the garden for TEA PARTIES! \o/
As usual, you can find all the details on Paloma & Pickle below. Happy Saturday!
This post has been a bit confusing to work out how to express. I knew I wanted to do something with Santi, but I wasn't sure how. I also didn't really want to do your typical Valentine's post ON Valentines day... and I'm going to explain both of these things.. so bear with.
Addressing the fact that I didn't want to do anything loveydovey on Valentines day is going to be difficult, which is probably why it's a couple of days after the event that this is finally coming together.
I'm sure there are many people like me who although they may adore the 'idea' of Valentines day, the actual day itself has always lacked. I don't mean anything super negative has happened, it hasn't... but I've been alone for so long without a partner in either RL or SL on Valentines that it had become another day for those coupled up people to rub it in my face that they were celebrating with someone who they love, while I was on the couch with my ice cream, wondering if Cupid was ever going to visit me.
This year, I didn't want to be one of those lovey dovey couples just because I have a Santi. I even caused a massively dramatic scene the day before that exhausted me, purely because in my experience ANY "Holiday" has had a negative context when I have been in a relationship with anyone. The last really good Valentines day I can remember has been when I was 16, and back then, it mattered because of teenage angst and knowing someone liked me enough to give me a card and spent his last £1.50 on a banana milkshake from McDonalds for me was more than I could have wished for. (I don't even like banana milkshake, but to this day, I don't think the guy knows that!!)
I also don't buy into the whole "This one day makes up for the rest of the year where I don't tell you that I love you. and I'm only buying you a gift because I feel like I absolutely have to thanks to the hugely advertised day that today is and if I don't you might physically hurt me" or something maybe less sensational.
So I did what I always do, and over-talked Santi into an explanation of "Although I get the appeal of Valentines day, I don't want presents and I'm not just saying I don't want presents I really really don't want presents, but I do want to spend the day with you are you confused yet?" kinda thing, because I do not want ANYONE to feel like gifts they are getting are because some person a long time ago decided lovers needed to express their love on this specific one day a year. I want gifts I get, or gifts I give to be personal and given purely because I popped in their mind at -that- point. Not out of obligation.
Lawd. Take a breath, Pickle.
For the actual blog post, I wanted to make it somehow different, and luckily this dress from CandyDoll totally allows for that.
It loosely connects to Santi's blog "This Guy's Eye" that you can find >Here<.
As you can see from his post, he's wandering along to my house. I want you to imagine me peeking out of the window, seeing that view and snapping a quick photo to remember that moment. Then skip along to my top picture... Santi has handed me the bouquet, and snapped a quick picture of me, along with the special tea I've prepared for him.
Naturally, after some cake and a cup of tea, things have progressed, and you'll see below, they're becoming a little heated... what happens next isn't suitable for my blog. :P

I'm not the greatest when it comes to keeping up with people in world. I can be distant and very introverted, hiding away on my platform or my farm (maybe I'll explain that one day, but for now I'm just going to drop that there) and doing my own thing. I tend to stick to a very small circle of friends who have proven over time that they are reliable and personable and I think that's the case with a lot of SL users now.
However, I'm also of the belief that if you make a commitment to someone, or a cause, or event, you should 100% follow through with that commitment, or vocalize the fact that you no longer want to be a part of that, yet sometimes it seems that communication can be an issue for people, and that is what starts to become frustrating.
In terms of blogging, there have been a couple of instances where if I hadn't spoken up, I would have lost some amazingly creative "sponsors" (I kinda hate that term and I'm noting this down to speak about at another date too), and there's also been at least one notable moment where I have 'lost' sponsorship over a misunderstanding, and upon attempting to find out more information have come up against a brick wall.
I suppose it's important to learn when it's a good time to back away, to rethink, rebrand and reboot part of your life, be that SL or RL and though it is always nice to receive a reason as to why someone has 'let you go' or moved on, it's not a pre-requisite, and sometimes you will not get the response you hope for.
Other times, you'll get just enough to learn from and improve on, and it'll give you the boost you need to grow, so I guess it all evens out in the end. ♥
